Variations

Can't find them.  I give up this listing tool is the worst EVER!!  I even contacted someone still doesn't help.  I know the category qualifies still no option.

Top, right side of page, click the 3 dots and click settings and turn on variations.

Thanks I tried about 10 times.  Once I get to click on the three dots to settings I get this message "

Settings

Control which feature you would like to see on your listing summary.

No where to go from there.  Nothing about variations and nothing to click on for further options at all, on anything until I close that out.

This is incorrect, but somehow marked as solved. Like the original post, when we click the 3 dots in the top right, a settings box pops up but there are no settings whatsoever. You can only click the X to close the popup.

When I click the triple dots, the option to turn on variations will only appear when the category supports variations. I think it does remember my selections because when I do switch to a category with variations, having previously used the tool to create variations, the feature is already selected in the master settings and the variation option is already present in my listing form.  If I turn it off in the settings, then the option disappears from the listing form.

Since we have already seen that some accounts can not access some features that can be accessed by other accounts, I would first like to know what category you have each selected where you would like variations to appear. We can then debug from there to determine if it is a category issue or an account issue.

I agree with @shipscript 

I think this seeing is only visible with in a category that they have preselected  I personally have never been able to access it until I pretended to list a shirt in that category that is supported. 

The larger complaint is that once again, confusion and misdirection from the listing tool because the options are hidden in 3 dot poops instead of being visible on a one page with flow like the classic. 

This tool just adds time and effort and confusion to listing, thereby slowing the process to a virtual standstill at times.

Oh if only someone at eBay would actually try to list something here!

@shipscript   I am trying to figure out how to do a variation and like others have mentioned, the settings button does not offer that. 

Category for the listing I am trying to create for variations is>

Business & Industrial > Adhesives, Sealants & Tapes > Caulks, Sealants & Removers > Caulks & Sealants

If the category accepts variations, that's how you turn them on.

Does that category accept variations?

When I chose that category, it didn't give me the option to add variations.

The caulk & sealants category does not support variations, and that is why you won't see it. Below I show the Earrings category that supports variations, and to the left of it, the caulk category does not support variations. The sequence on the listing form is:

- Item Specifics
- Variations
- Condition
- Description

If you can see variations in the earrings category or tshirt category, then you will know that you are not one of those sellers unable to see that option.

By the way, the gear symbol to turn the variation slot on and off (visible in my earlier screen shots) is no longer available to me. So the tool is constantly morphing. But that does not prevent me from seeing the Variation option when choosing a supporting category.
