Unable to list with Turbo Lister, error message about missing "object type"

I had not listed anything with TL for a while because of the same error message about "missing object type".  I tried using Seller Hub to list but am really disappointed with the loss of unsold listings after 60 days so I am trying to go back to TL.  When I tried to list again today I got the same error message "The item specific Object Type is missing.  Add object type to this listing, enter a valid value and then try again".  I have updated TL to the latest version and still cannot figure out what the missing "object type" is or how to fix the problem.  Thanks for any help.

The 'object type' may be referencing a programming term. This would imply an error in the TL program...ie. that it is not on the latest version.

1) Are you on version 9.927.101.1? Click the Help tab, and then click on About TurboLister.

2) Did you end TL and then restart your system after the update? If not, end TL then reboot the computer.

Try again.

I will be here for a while, please repost.

Yes, that is the version I have.  I did reboot but I will do it again and see if that helps.  I hate to resort to the 'help" as I always seem to get someone that basically reads from a script and does not usually know how to fix my problem! thanks for the reply.

@noelani

The Advanced Apps team does not read from a script. You can contact them, by sending them an email to turbodata@ebay.com, from your registered email address, or for a quicker response (and this sounds like it may be a hands on issue)...

This is from the eBay Advanced Apps team...

Phone Support (US - 8 AM - 6 PM MST): **To call us, click on the Help & Contact link found at the top of most eBay pages. Click on the Contact Us button at the bottom of the page. Select ‘Selling’ -> ‘Getting Started’ -> ‘Selling Tools’ for issues or concerns related to eBay listing tools that my team can assist you with. Now scroll to the bottom and click Call Us. Ask the customer support agent to transfer you to the Advanced Apps team.**

Unable to list with Turbo Lister, error message about missing "object type"

Update!  I did call for "advanced apps" help and was able to finally get the answer to my problem related to "object type".  It is not easy to find on the listing template as you have to first go to "item specifics", click on edit, click on "suggestions", scroll down to object type, select that, then choose item type or add your own.  The gentleman who assisted me even admitted that eBay did not make it easy to find.  Hope this info might help someone else in the future.

The requirement for object type in the pottery and glass categories that I usually list in is a relative recent requirement. It is so useless!!!!!

Totally agree. The "object type" is most often already IN the title/description etc. Beats me why they feel THIS field is necessary yet condition isn't required.
Reality is the leading cause of stress.

Because they will use that field to filter/ combine like items for the catalog at some point..........  UPC's and MPN's are not available for alot of older items.

The easiest way I have found to correct this is to simply copy and paste into your inventory folder (or any other folder) or in 'Waiting to Upload' folder.  The old item number disappears.
