Turbo Lister won't save changes because of 13 character limit in UPS when using "Does Not Apply"

I am trying to edit hundreds of descriptions but Turbo Lister gives me an error message that states: "The character limit for this field is 13.  Please remove some characters".  The field in question is the UPC field and I use the "Does Not Apply"  selection supplied by Ebay.  The only post I could find in these forums concerning the problem is an Ebay rep saying you must use the "Does Not Apply" selection exactly as is because it has 14 characters.   I am using it exactly as is because in the original listing I used the drop down selection.   So is there a way to get around this and be able to use Turbo Lister to edit my listings or do I have to edit my listings individually by using the "revise item" selection?

You might consider using FileExchange.

Sign up here (free) - http://pages.ebay.com/sellerinformation/sellingresources/fileexchange.html

Advanced Instructions here - http://pages.ebay.com/file_exchange/File_Exchange_Advanced_Instructions.pdf

Follow the instructions on pages 143 and 144 of the Advanced Instructions to download your active listings and modify the Product:UPC field (add Does not apply to the Product:UPC field), follow ALL of the instructions for setting the item id correctly, modifying the Action statement, and creating an upload file.

Now upload the file to eBay's FileExchange processor. You will receive an email, with a link to the completed results file, when it has completed processing. This usually only takes a few minutes.

If you have any issues, there are several members and eBay staff on this board to help.

BTW. The ncurrent version of Turbo is - 9.923.101.0 If your version is not current, you may wish to update it to the current version. Help is also available here for that task.

Turbo Lister won't save changes because of 13 character limit in UPS when using "Does Not Apply"

@fabersurplus - Thank you for posting your issue with Turbo Lister on this Community Board thread.

Depending on what version of Turbo Lister you are on, you will have the ability to just select the "Does not apply" option instead of typing it out. If you type it out, you will be limited for to 13 characters as you have discovered.

Please click on the dropdown arrow and select the "Does not apply" option. You shouldn't have to type it out.

If you don't have this option, I would advise you to update your current version of Turbo Lister to the latest by going to "Tools > Check for Program Updates". Install the "Application Updates" first and then install the rest of the updates available.

Please let me know if this you still aren't able to submit listings by using the dropdown option for "Does not apply" instead of typing it out through Turbo Lister. Post your response to this email for my "Private Message" is turned off.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Turbo Lister won't save changes because of 13 character limit in UPS when using "Does Not Apply"

My Turbo Lister was more than three versions out of date so I had to contact Ebay customer support as referenced in another post.  They walked me through how to get updated to the latest version of TL.  I am able to update my listings now with the "Does not apply"  in the UPC box.  Thanks,
