Turbo Lister and synchronization of files

After moving my TL files to a new computer I just noticed that about half of my photos don’t show up. I am thinking that if I sync my unsolds hopefully the photos will appear on my Turbo Lister files? Syncing 600 items will take a couple of hours anyway, if not more. Should I be changing my power settings to never so my pc doesn’t turn off or go to sleep while I am doing this?

I have no idea why some photos didn’t show up, I transferred my files to a flash drive and then uploaded to my new pc. Only happened on one of my IDs too, the other was okay.

Turbo Lister and synchronization of files

1) It should not take hours, but may take some minutes so it would not hurt to change the power off settings,

2) Image files can be stored in the databases or in a directory, depending on the options selected in Turbo lister.

The easiest way to update the images, is to Click on Tools>Options>Advanced options>Synchronization options>Reset, then click on Apply, Then click on Synchronize.

Click on Tools>Compact database after the above completes to keep the databases healthy.

Do that separately for each user defined in Turbo.

Please repost if you need help with the Inventory images for each userid. That must be done in a separate manner.

Turbo Lister and synchronization of files

Thank you dollybeauty, I think it helped a bit although I don’t seem to have all my photos back. I do have another question though: On my old win 7 laptop when I wanted to add a photo in my TL listing I just clicked on add photo and my Adobe PSE files appeared. Now I have win 10 (still trying to learn it) and can only seem to get into Adobe Pictures by going to My PC>Pictures>then choosing a file. Is there a way to have my Adobe files come up more directly without all the clicks?

Thanks again!

@dollybeauty

I may not be the best to answer windows questions, but look to your 'default' programs/processes.

LOL, just try to set FireFox or Chrome as your default browser! That will bring up the default list. MS is really pushing Edge! Anyway, the default list should allow you to associate images with a particular image program.

I think the issue is the "last used directory" here if I'm reading this right. If OP navigated to the Adobe image directory once in the TL "add image" dialog it would stick as the default/sticky goto location unless some other location was chosen in the dialog.

Maybe Win10 file dialog interface no longer behaves that way? (I use XP so no help with Win10 here)

Thanks for the help, I don’t think I’ll ever get used to Win 10. It’s weird, the photos that I upload in my Adobe elements don’t seem to stay in that file, instead they reside under Pictures only. In my win 7 laptop they were in Pictures and I could also access them under my Adobe files. In Win 10 I can open Adobe and access them but if I just click on Adobe in My PC it shows an empty folder.

Oh well, I’ll just use Win 10 and not worry about how it works I guess.
