Trouble using File Exchange - Error 10007

Hi. Admittedly, I'm a newb with File Exchange...trying to use it for the first time to create a listing with variations (for ballcards). I'm getting stuck with a Failure with an error 10007 "|Error - Sorry, something went wrong. Please wait a moment and try again.| "

That error is a wee bit vague. I've "waited a moment and tried again" a few times with same result. 🙂

Any chance someone from ebay could take a look and let me know what I'm screwing up? Last attempt was Upload Ref# 8999118163985. Thanks!

Hi @dws44,

Thanks for posting.

As @shipscript pointed out, that can refer to either a processing error on our end, or some data on the file that doesn't agree with our system; As the error would suggest, system issues should be short lived.

I this case it looks like there was some rogue data on your file, which can cause it to be read improperly, and throw any number of errors. I've sent you an email with the details on which data you need to address.

@dws44

Staff probably won't be back in here until Monday at the earliest.

Error 10007 is typically an internal error on eBay's side, like a problem in the upload-processing server, but there have been instances of bad data also triggering that error.

I recommend that your first File Exchange upload be a simple listing, not a variation, so that you can rule out any basic issues. There are more complexities with a variation. You can upload a test listing to an test category like 14111.

When the issues are ironed out on a simple listing, move on to the variation listing. Also consider using "VerifyAdd" instead of "Add" as the Action verb. That way you can keep nibbling away at the problem without inadvertently listing an incomplete item.

If you are new to eBay variations, this tutorial may help. It has some File Exchange info at the bottom.

This File Exchange Variation Builder will provide the variation concatenation necessary for a spreadsheet upload.
