Is there a way to enter the unit cost of an item when listing, so that it can be automatically tracked from within eBay?
Here is how I am currently doing my profit calculations:
1. When listing, I enter the cost of the item on eBay as a note (so only visible to me).
2. At the end of each month, I fill in part of a yearly spreadsheet with:
...Gross Sales (pulled for just that month on eBay from performance>sales)
...Selling Costs (pulled for just that month on eBay from performance>selling costs)
...COGS (search my sold listings for just that month and manually add up what is recorded in my notes)
3. There is a column in my spreadsheet for each month, with totals that carry over for the year that I can use for taxes. There are other costs, of course, on the spreadsheet covering overhead, mileage, listing fees, etc.
This system has been fine for lower sales volume, but I'm preparing for listing more items. Thanks for any suggestions.
