The dreaded error 'Item.ShippingDetails' is missing or invalid

Hi, am hoping a member of eBay's file exchange team can take a look at this.

I'm trying to do a bulk upload with just a single record as a test and keep getting this 'Item.ShippingDetails' error. I initially tried the upload with the shipping details referencing a specific shipping policy name as listed under my store's business policies, then later tried filling in the shipping fields instead.

If i can get this working, this is going to save so much time! Thanks in advance!

@lu12-deals

You can reference a Shipping Policy name without adding any further shipping details for flat rate shipping. If your shipping policy includes calculated shipping, then you will also need to add:

• WeightMajor (whole pounds)
• WeightMinor (whole ounces)
• WeightUnit  ("lb" or "kg")
• PackageDepth (whole inches)
• PackageLength (whole inches)
• PackageWidth (whole inches)
• PackageType  ("None", "Letter", "LargeEnvelope", "PackageThickEnvelope", "USPSLargePack" works for all services, etc)
• ShipFromZipCode

Thank you so much for the info. Are these fields mentioned in the PDF document anywhere? I've been parsing out the instructions here https://ir.ebaystatic.com/cr/v/c1/rsc/feeds/v1/guide-inventory-onboarding.pdf .. it's a little rough to follow.

Thank you for the link. I had not seen that document and had taken the information from the old FileExchange instructions. What eBay page provided that link?

I see the same fields on page 20 of that onboarding document, but that page says you don't need those columns if using a shipping policy. That appears to be incorrect. You will need to add those fields when using calculated shipping because there is no place in the shipping policy to add that package information.

The onboarding document has OriginatingPostalCode instead of ShipFromZipCode. They are probably interchangeable.

Hello! Is there a certain spot in the spreadsheet or a certain way to add the columns? I got the Error 37 and added the columns next to column that said to add them and I'm still getting the Error 37 "Shipping Details". Thank  you!

@lo_920890

There is no particular order or position necessary. Make sure the column headers are correct and don't have any extra spaces before or after.  Here is one of my spreadsheets.

Package Specs:

PostalCodeWeightUnitWeightMajorWeightMinorPackageLengthPackageWidthPackageDepthPackageType
95051lb04941PackageThickEnvelope
95051lb02940Letter

Shipping service (when not using a policy)

ShippingTypeShipping service 1 optionShippingService-1:FreeShippingShipping service 1 costShipping service 1 priority
CalculatedUSPSParcel0 1
CalculatedUS_eBayStandardEnvelope1 1

Notice that my shipping service headers are in the new spaced out format from Seller Hub, while the FreeShipping header is one I pulled in from the older File Exchange.  Both formats are interchangeable.
