Security Code

Having loads of bother attempting to post an item for sale.... is someone trying to tell me not to waste my time!!

Found out via Ebay Chat that my home telephone number cannot be used to receive their calls, so cannot get code. Advised to borrow mobile, change telephone number on my account (change it back again afterwards) and request call or text. I have done that but still nothing.

On entering mobile number I've attempting inputting whole number also tried leaving off first number 0, something went wrong keeps coming up!

Surely this cannot be so difficult? Any human assistance appreciated.

Were you trying to list the item on this eBay website, eBay.com  = eBay USA?

You are registered on eBay UK, and it doesn't look like you have sold before. So you will need to sign up for managed payments, and you have to do that on eBay UK.

Re: Security Code

Ebay UK was site selling on.

Sold before, some time ago.

Attempted to sign up, but hit same problem once more, requests send text/call me, receive same message again 'Something went wrong. Please try again later'.

Did notice my credit card used had expired.

Re: Security Code

You need to ask on the UK chat boards; this is the US forum and the UK procedures and rules are probably quite different from what most posters here are familiar with. Best of luck to you!

Re: Security Code

I've spent hours on Chat this afternoon, without getting anywhere, other than try again after 24 hours.

But why?

The try again after 24 hours is because eBay is saying they did a entry into the system to fix situation and when system updates within 24 hours it should be fixed.

However it could also mean that they sent a request to someone else to fix the issue so allow 24 hours for someone to look into situation.

Other possibility is they do not have an answer so they are just telling you to check back to see if it fixed itself.

Well have you signed up for manged payments?

Are you using a different IP than prior if you have not used eBay for some time?

Make sure any device that is to be used for eBay to contact you doensnot have the spam filter on, as this may also block such messages.
