I just updated to the new eBay app, only do discover that I already had it, and had just deleted it, because I thought it was an old, unsupported app! The fact is that the new app (white icon) is very minimal and confusing, compared with the old one (colorful icon).
I haven't actually used it much, yet, but the first thing I noticed is that searches are displayed ONLY in 4-across gallery style, and that the end dates/time remaining is not displayed, in many if not most cases (esp. if it's BIN), nor is whether the price given is a BIN or a bidding auction!
The display is almost entirely in B&W, which is ugly, the list of my regular searches is incomplete (I have to load the rest of them in a seperate action if I want to see them all). Not that I would necessarily mind that, if it actually worked better, but that does not seem to be the case!
It seems that eBay thinks that change, even for the worse, is better than no change at all! In fact, eBay would do better, for users, if they made as few changes as possible, so that we wouldn't have to relearn everything ever few months or so! What, exactly, is the advantage of moving functions around on the page (or even to different pages)? It just makes them harder to find and nothing else!
In almost every single case over the years, eBay has gotten worse with every update, when what I have REALLY wanted was for them to just leave it alone! If they did that, I'd have been a master of it years ago. As it stands, even after using eBay for 20 years, it's still not nearly as easy to use as it should be.
Even THIS function, that I am writing here, is conspicuously lacking in any EDITING function. If there are 2 very similar comments out here from me, that's why.
