Tried this morning with a fresh mindset and a calm mind
1. Lost 5 of my listings and never actually listed them!- just moved them to drafts with the wrong pictures
2. Spent 30 minutes on the phone with merchant support trying to find the place that the add handling charge option was hidden!- the agent put me on hold 3x because he could not find it either! very intuitive design!!
3. With agent on the line we did a sell similar and it listed the item with a new ebay item # but when we searched it on ebay the new item came up but with the original listing NOT the one I just created
I now have to go back over the try again to see if I can even list anything today
I am at my wits end with ebay right now- 3 weeks with this tool and a total of 8 actual listings completed - tech lead reimagination my rear. How do you expect us to stay in business if we can not list????

I finally pushed through and listed a lot of items over the weekend.
There were still some really ridiculous glitches and, I'm sure I made a lot of mistakes. But hey, that's what free returns are for! (snark)
I talked to CS. The good CS. And no way will they change it back. My advice is, get used to it in time for everything to get fouled up with the Fall Update.

I'm totally with you on this debacle, but eBay did say it would be a new "Experience".

This is infuriating! 2nd time i've gotten this and it shuts the listing down!
BTW ebay - ITS NOT HELPFULL TO HAVE A WARNING BUT NOT TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG- there are 40 item specifics and you wont tell me which one you dont like......even though they are all correct because I just added them!!!!!!
my only solution is to erase all item specifics and list without any -THANKS AGAIN ebay for ruining the listing experience- now my listing quality has been reduced substantially
BTW - customer service has no ideas either

It wont list at all- It tells you it is listed and gives it an item # but never actually goes live....it moves it to your drafts without telling you!!!!!!

Just spent 15 minutes with trial and error to figure it out!!!!!
Listing tool allows for infinite characters in each field ...BUT not really- they let you type till your blue in the face and when you click list tell you there is an error....but wont tell you what it is!
Turns out there is a character limit- they just dont tell you what it is or stop the cursor from typing (like the 80 character limit in the title- you just cant type anymore)
This tool was so ill conceived and programmed that it is becoming infuriating to use- The classic tool worked perfectly- I understand that they wanted a new one BUT why why ignore the most basic programming rules in the world?
This tool is just wrong

Hi @siamjane8! I reached out to the listing team and they said in most cases the values are limited, but they did find they could reproduce what you described in the custom item specifics. They're having that looked into further and appreciate you bringing it to their attention.

I appreciate seeing a response on this. The listing tool is not working properly on a laptop. Many glitches especially in the photo tool, shipping and item specifics. You have to wait on photos to completely load with each edit, which wasn't a thing before. Some photos won't edit and come up when you go to list the item, but you can't edit it. Then you have to go back in and edit the listing. This is just one example.

Yes, the handling cost is well hidden under domestic settings. It's kind of like a treasure hunt, isn't it? I think we are going to need some sort of map to find everything.

Thanks for forwarding the info and responding back here so we do not felt left in the dark. Not sure what ebay thinks but I approve mandatory overtime for these teams to get all of these problems fixed quickly. Listing is just too integral of a system to have released it with so many unfinished coding and glitches. Thanks for your help- and please send more feedback to management in higher up positions so they know what is going on. We need relief from this tool one way or another- either temporarily give us access to the classic tool again or get this up to par within the week.
Now I am being made fun of by other seller friends of mine- they text and call telling me how many listings they got done each day- because they are still in the classic tool........

Thanks for the screen shots- crazy thing is, i did find it once a week ago but its just so unintuitive of a design that i could not figure it out again.
Only ebay would take a simple on screen box that you type $3 in, and move it into a submenu popup box that you first have to hit "edit all", then hit delivery, then hit "domestic options", then a new box comes up and you have to toggle it on, then a new box comes up to type your handling charge in, then you have to hit done to get back to the previous submenu BUT then you have to hit done again to get back to the main screen. That is only 7 extra clicks and 4 more popup boxes.
Now consider that its basically the same for the whole shipping section and item specifics and you even need to go into submenus to select a condition other than new or used....... its like they know we want it to be like the classic and all on one page and efficient.....but its driving them crazy because they "think" the new tool is better.
Design team- this is not personal, its not emotional, its not resistance to change- the new tool just is not adapted to work on a desktop- at all. we sellers just need it to be a real desktop tool like the classic.

That is the crux of it. The designers want to merge the mobile and desktop views into one interface, which I can understand from a programming and support standpoint.
However, we desktop sellers resist the phone app for the very reason that we want the full-screen view of everything at a glance.
I would personally like to a see an "explode all" button at the top that would open up everything on desktop, while diminishing all the touch-screen empty space.

I would love that idea as well- a simple button that toggles back to a desktop version for computer listers. Not the classic of course but a version of the new tool with its fancy new coding, but looks and feels like it should on a desktop. and it would have to remember our selection on that sevice so we would not have to toggle it every time.
Although i would caution using the word explode! lol. who knows how the team would interpret that lol
It is imperative though to restore a full screen work view to the desktop........ unless the new craze is going to be 6" desktop screens! somehow i doubt that is the future

I am try to use the old listing method and that is not working either. Time for ebay to make some major changes.
