Hello Ebay community. I recently discovered I could request and dowloaded my entire ebay data from when I first started. In reviewing it I discovered two items dating back to 2012 and 2007 which I absolutley did not not purchase. I haven't a clue how someone someone could have accomplished this and even more importantly how E-bay could have let it slide through. The total dollar amount is under $100 and not so much the issue though I would certainly welcome a credit even 10+ years later. My question is HOW DO I GO ABOUT CONTACTING THE EBAY HEADQUARTERS TO SPEAK WITH A REAL PERSON AND NOT TRY RESOLViNG THIS VIA EMAILS TO THEM. Is it even at all possible. I have tried all the various help links offered but none seem to give me the direct route I seek. I wonder if anyone out there has had similar experience. HELP!! Thank You.

Sorry....It's way too late to do anything about purchases dating 2007 and 2012.
Chargebacks don't even go that far back

I do not think its possible to do anything now
ebay let it slide because it up to you to be vigilant with your account
how is ebay going to know that someone made a purchase with your account that might be fraud
if you account is hacked its up to the account holder to notice it

Thank you for quick reply. Ok, fine I'm content to not get chargeback even though I never was even aware of the purchase to begin with. I suspect the buyer somehow accessed my ebay account and did the deed. I still want and need to know how do I get in touch with a REAL person tp prevent it happenng again.

Yes, I get what you're saying but wonder how is it even possible for someone to hack me given all the security safe guards supposedly in place. And my question still remains unanswered. HOW DO I REACH A REAL PERSON AT EBAY HEADQUARTERS. DOESN'T ANYONE KNOW OR IS IT JUST IMPOSSIBLE AND THEY ARE INSULATED FROM CONTACT WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS. Thanks for your prompt attention.

To prevent this from happening again change your password, use the 2 step verification.
You don't need to talk to a live CS rep, most are clueless.

Thanks. Good suggestions and probably only sensible one. BUT still would love to know how to reach a real person just in case for the future.

In the future, should you have an account issue, you can contact eBay agents by clicking the "Contact us" button at the bottom of a related help page and type "agent" into the chat box that opens.
This is the help page for a hacked account:
https://www.ebay.com/help/account/protecting-account/get-help-hacked-account?id=4196
Most accounts are compromised when the owner clicks a phishing link in an email or webpage and unwittingly enters a password. Using an unsecured router or hot spot, or public or shared computer, to access eBay can also contribute.
These days, eBay sends a warning email to members who access eBay outside of their normal routine. I receive a message every time I use incognito mode (private browsing) to log into eBay with any of my different accounts.

Thanks for all the good info. I didn;t know about the "agent" thing or the hacked acccount link. I'll definitely save that info. Re: Phishing. I never open anything that I don't recognize and also donlt type in my password on anything that isn't encrypted and secured. I'll be more careful with hotspots etc. Thanks again. Love the ebay community.

Thanks. I'll get right on it.

I haven't gone back to check my ancient history so I don't know what's shown. (I can't even find how to see beyond 3 years.)
But if you are able to do so, does it actually show the items that were supposedly purchased?
Respectfully, I am willing to bet that these WERE purchases you made and just forgot about. If an account is hacked, it's unlikely that the fraudsters would do just one or 2 small transactions in many years and not come back to wipe you out when you didn't question those supposed hacks.

To what @albertabrightalberta mentioned, we have seen instances where a computer was left unattended and was accessed by another family member or guest - no hacking required.
This is how to access historical data:
Select only the data of interest. In seven days, eBay will send a download link, allowing only 7 days to collect.
The data will be zipped into a series of folders with HTML files that are in tabular format.

Thank you @shipscript ! I never knew that was available!

I see someone else has informed you as to how to get ALL your data. Good luck. This all started for me because I wanted to know how much gross sales I've had since beconimg an Ebayer. Far as I can see from the files included in the downloaded zip folder there isn't a file for that. I did see all my sales from day one to the present but I'm not about to sit here and add up endless dollar amounts for the past 18 years. I'm hoping there is a way and will find it eventually.
To answer you question. Yes it does show the items purchased when I open the Purchased File. Sorry but you'd lose your bet. I absolutley didn't buy either of the two items nor did I forget I had. One was for a Subaru Legacy and I didn't even own now at the time. I too am somewhat baffled as to why the huckster wouldn't or didn't repeat the fraud, but they wouldn't be wiping out if they had. It seems they simply used me to pay for it which I frankly don't understand how that's even possible. I'm taking measures for the future.
