Hi
Does anyone know how I can avoid MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) exposure? Is there an app developed that provides a way to comply with MAP policy?
MinimumAdvertisedPriceExposure
If an item listing qualifies it to be listed as a MAP item (PricingTreatment returns MAP), the item price cannot be directly displayed on the page containing the item. When listing a MAP item, the seller stipulates how they want the buyer to view the price of the item by setting this field to either PreCheckout or DuringCheckout. If this field is not set for a MAP item, the treatment defaults to PreCheckout.
If this field is set to PreCheckout, the buyer must click a link (or button) to view the item price on a different page (such as in a pop-up window). If this field is set to DuringCheckout, the StartPrice must be shown only when the buyer in the eBay checkout flow.
Thanks!

Here's the rediculous response I received from ebay. The policy is clearly discorages compliance with MAP policy and prohibits new entrantes to list on ebay.
Hello Michael,
Thanks for getting in touch with us about your listings. I understand how you’d like to have them set up for Pre-Checkout or During Checkout. This is Tricia from eBay Customer Support and I will have this explained further.
Michael, I would like to let you know that there are certain requirements that need to be met in order to list MAP (MinimumAdvertisedPric) items. Your seller lever should be at Above Standard and you should meet the GMV (Gross Merchandise Volume) requirement of $150,000 (or more) annually.
As I can see here, you just started listing items on our site. As of the moment, you are not yet eligible for this specific feature.
Once you are already meeting the requirements, you can contact us back so we can submit a request to a specific team to have your account checked for eligibility.
I trust that I've explained things clearly on how MAP items with Pre-Checkout/During Checkout features work.
For further assistance or if you have other questions about your eBay account, please feel free to contact us.
Kindest regards,
Tricia A.

@gradysfoodserviceequipment - The tough part would be mapping your own CSV file that you received from your manufacturer and inputting the data into our CSV file.
Copying and paste the information that we need is the fastest way you can do it.
I don't have too much information on third party tools that would specifically allow you to import in your file to create eBay listings.
We have an offline listing tool that can import in a CSV file, but the volume that you are looking to use it for is too much for the program to handle.
Hope this information helps.
Sincerely,
mykal@ebay

ok. I give it a try. Can we develop a custom API to connect up to our catalog. Possibly set it up to update every night?

These options are not documented in the FE Advamced Instructions, however, you are not using the correct capitalization. None of FE options are all lower case.
Try Precheckout, PreCheckout, or PreCheckOut.

@gradysfoodserviceequipment - Thank you for checking the result files.
Please keep in mind that certain required values are case sensitive.
You have the MinimumAdvertisedPriceExposure value as precheckout. It needs to be PreCheckout.
Please adjust the value and re-upload the file.
Feel free to keep me posted.
Sincerely,

hi dollybeauty
I tried all 3
Precheckout (FileExchange_Response_883290330)
PreCheckOut (FileExchange_Response_883289650)
PreCheckout (FileExchange_Response_883287740)
The last file is what I actually uploaded in the 3 variations above. There must be something else in the upload file that needs to change? (FileExchange_Response_41990310)
Can you look at the attached files and see if it could be something else? The first 2 had ErrorCode 37, the 3rd had ErrorCode 17. Thanks
