Manage Active Listings- look up by SKU not working

I am not able to look up my listings by SKU number-  I used to be able to search by "SKU" , "Contains" and a partial SKU number to get a list of like products.  Please fix this.  I need to be able to sort my stock by SKU type. Categories is too broad.

This function worked during 2020, until about  June or so 2021.  I have written "help" messages but apparently that was the wrong place to request help.  I am not a large seller, but have enough items that this issue is becoming a real problem!!

You're not alone - I still haven't found any solution nor have received any help on this.  It's completely ruined the functionality of the "manage active listings'.  I'm bookmarking this page and your question just in case I find the answer.

@veobr-62 and @reforger are you saying this function in the Seller Hub isn't working anymore? If not, what kind of error or results are you getting?

Manage Active Listings- look up by SKU not working

I tried the filter, and, while it is correctly case-insensitive, it works only on whole words. I can not find a SKU that describes a set of items.  So, as previously reported, it is not finding "partial SKUs".

For instance, searching for "Test", I can find "test item", but not TestItem1, TestItem2, etc.

It is also failing to return any listings that contain variation SKUs.

Thanks for the added info @shipscript! I'll get this over to our Seller Hub team and see what I can find out.

Manage Active Listings- look up by SKU not working

Yes, that is the lookup screen that is no longer working fully.  I cannot get any result from any kind of SKU lookup I have tried different versions and all I get is the generic "no results found" message.  Some of the other lookups don't function for me either, but this is the one I really need- as well as the usual Item Title lookup.

Thanks, VN

Manage Active Listings- look up by SKU not working

Sure - below are two screenshots which will clarify the problem.  If we search by custom label (SKU),  what used to work perfectly has not worked for a few months now.  In the example below we have many active SKUs with custom labels that contain "BMS".  However, we now are getting zero results on that search.  In the next picture we see that searching by "title contains" DOES work properly - using search key word "robes" to show some of our BMS skus.  So in summary - it appears the non functional feature is searching by "custom label SKU" "contains".  We'd love for this bug to get some attention since it is an essential feature.

Thanks for following up @veobr-62 and @reforger! I've heard back and they said they fixed a longstanding issue with the 'Custom label (SKU)' 'contains' search where it used to not work when searching for things like G37. Having said that, there needs to be spaces in your custom label or the search won't work.

If we use @shipscript's example of test items, it will not work if the label was written as Testitem1 and you search for Test. If you make it Test Item 1 though, and then search for Test, you will get the proper results. They said using partial matches within strings is not a good option because it would bring up too many irrelevant results and is why eBay search, Google, etc. won't support it.

I hope that helps and going forward, you'll be better able to utilize the 'contains' search option when trying to locate your items.

Manage Active Listings- look up by SKU not working

Thank you for the explanations Velvet,  @reforger , @shipscript.  I understand why its not working now.  It used to work, early 2021 it worked.  How come when I lookup the same way by Title,-Contains-Metal results come up for "string words" ex: metal gives me "metalfigs", "metallic" and even some titles without the word metal.  I am not going back and changing every one of my SKUS, but going forward, will follow your advise.

I cannot search either. The "contains" option does not work.

@gemsntherough.nm

What search phase are you entering, and what SKUs are you expecting to find?

i am also unable to utilize the "contains" option when searching by my suctom label SKU.

I expect that when I search for "W" with "Contains" selected for the SKU field, then I would get all items currently Active with a "W" in the SKU.   E.g. it should return "W132","W139", "@243", "@451", etc.

If I were to search the same way but with "R" as my entry, then I would expect to get "R2", "R18","R35","R259", etc.

Dear eBay developers,

I believe the system used here is arguably wrong and I am also expecting this fix for a long time, so I wanted to UP this post.

I dont see any people or business in the world to have a reason to build SKU with multiple words with spcaes. It is against the nature of it.

Contains should mean that: a partial letters should match the SKU. As many sellers are requesting this for same reasons.

Yes, we need to find TestItem5 when we write Test and contains every other SKU that has  Test in it,

Contains algorithm should work exactly :searching freely like we do in Item Title in Active Page.

Hoping to get a fix on this soon

I still miss this feature daily and am a bit shocked that what should be a simple fix hasn't been done yet.
