Hello fellow eBayers!!
So I have tried to find the answer to what I feel is a pretty straight up questions, and to be honest, functionality I am amazed isn't currently available....unless I am wrong. I have searched and called eBay directly (which really didn't help at all) and I nedd help.
So what is this need? When I list an item for sale, I want to add the item cost (obviously only to be seen by me).
I have Selling Manager Pro, which includes reports. (very limited and simple reports). The report includes an extended view, and when used, shows the field "item cost". The report if very useful in that it shos shipping cost, ebay fee, and PayPal fee. BUT, without the original item cost, the "gain" that is shows really means nothing.
The only way I have found that I can gain access to this field is if I go to the drop down menu with the "sold" section and look at the "sales record". It's at the very bottom.
I would think that adding the original cost of an item so the reports show the actual profit or "gain" would be a pretty standard feature. The easiest would be to include it on the listing page, or even allow batch editing within a list.
Please let me know if I am missing something. When I called eBay, they said this functionality isn't available, but my confidence level on their explanation is at about a zero.
Thanks.

Since ebay does not need that info and they expect you to keep your own records why would they offer that?

When eBay goes to full intermediation (when eBay handles payment data processing inhouse) they indicated they may have a whole new suite of reporting features. When that starts to roll out in the next 6 to 12 months, you might want to opt in and start providing feedback about what you want to see in the reports.
