What size are the pictures? They may be too large a file size. Today's cameras and cell phones take very large pictures, some may be 8 to 16 megapixels, possibly even larger. These pictures at web resolution of 72 to 96 ppi are the size of a billboard. For example, a 5,000 pixel wide picture at 72 ppi is almost 70" wide; that's way bigger than needed. You should reduce the physical and file size of pictures with photo editing software. A picture really doesn't need to be bigger than 1000 pixels in it's largest dimension. A modern monitor or HD TV is 1920 X 1080; a 1000 pixel picture will be half the screen. The file size can often be reduced to less than 130 kb while maintaining very good quality. This will be easy to upload compared to a 5000 pixel wide picture that may be over 6,000 kb.
