Card condition for variations

I have a number of older cards from the same set that I post as variations.  all are ungraded but it appears you can only select a condition that applies to the listing. IE very good. That works with newer cards that have been maintained but often older ones could fall into any of the four categories. i tried putting condition on the parent row and each child row but it reverted back to parent. I tried to ignore that parent to no avail.  Is there a way to have different conditions in the same listing?

Card condition for variations

All items in a variation listing must be in the same condition. The "condition" belongs to the parent record.  eBay does not support variations with differing conditions.

Your options are to choose the worst condition of any in the lot and use that for the listing (where some will be better than expected), or split the set into condition groups and make separate listings for each condition. Or simply pull the worst so that your lowest condition is not so bad.

Another option, which may not get much traction in search, is to create a multi-variation with a second attribute name like "Card_condition" and upcharge for the condition of cards in that grouping. Your master record should still show the worst condition.

Such a multi-variation listing is a little more complex, but doable.

You might have two attribute labels, like "Card_condition" and "Card#", where Card# is your full list of items and "Card_condition" might be "near mint", "excellent", "good", and "poor" to match eBay's definitions.  If your lowest value is "poor", then that is what you must use for the master record to avoid "not as described" returns.

Using the VariationBuilder for a spreadsheet,

your supplied lists and resultant CSV might look like this:

The listing would post with two drop lists: one for condition and one for the card#. Thus, only a subset of cards would be shown in each condition group.

You will notice that multi-variation listings with limited populations, like this example, are not as easy for a buyer to navigate as would be a fully populated list of something like all colors and all sizes of a tee shirt.
