Beginning a new eBay store again after many years. For frame of reference, I used to use Turbo Lister.
Is it Best to use the mobile app or a desktop for listings considering multiple negative comments about the New Unified Listing Tool in another discussion? I prefer to stick to one method, the least aggravating one. ( 😁 )
I'll be selling a wide variety of items but will not be selling multiple items of the same thing with different sizes etc., for example.
Moderator - if allowed, I'll add the link to the New unified listing tool discussion in this post.

This is what the new Unified Lister looks like currently. Images are taken from a desktop, but the format is quite similar to the Mobile App, so I used a narrow monitor screen to capture the images. All editing is performed on overlays that open for each section.
You will be able to see at a glance which values are already entered, but to change them, or to see alternatives, the overlay must be opened.
I don't see an option to create variations, but variations do not exist on the Quick Lister or the Mobile App either.
One of the biggest differences is that the text editing toolbar is limited to only bold and bullet points. You can still format your content elsewhere and paste it in, or code it in HTML view.
Another limitation is that, unlike the Quick Lister, there is no drag/drop of photos from the desktop. Instead, a file browser opens for selecting local files. Unlike the Business Lister, there is no facility to enter the URLs of online photos. Additionally, there is no photo editing at this time. The only options are to delete the photos or rearrange the photos.

I checked out the new listing tool and I don't think it's going to matter what we use, it's going to be a PITA.

Hi! Overall, it looks easier and more convenient than what I went through before. I haven't created a listing yet, but I'll try to set everything up ahead of time so that I won't have to open and reopen overlays. I'll make sure my pictures are Listing-ready also.
Thanks very much for the screenshots and the descriptions of them. You really are a rockstar!

The main thing I don't like about is, you can't enter all the information on one page.
You have to click a link to open each little section to enter the information.

I'm hoping that if I fill out the main information I need for all the items that I won't have as many pages to open.

Unfortunately thats not how it will work- you have to open each box every time you list an item- close to 70 popup boxes for a full listing- and 4x the clicks of a mouse. Its not the at the new tool is bad in itself- it is perfect for a phone. It just not usable on a desktop. To be fair- if you list 3 things a month it probably wont matter. But if you are using this tool every day to list- it simply is NOT acceptable.

@siamjane8 do you mean that it would be easier to list on a mobile device? I still haven't started my listings so I have plenty of room to decide what to use.

No I don't think its easier to list on a phone. I have tried it a couple times but never finished the listing- ebay requires far too much information that is not needed to list such as many item specifics that are meaningless to buyers but ebay wants us to build their catalog....much too complicated on a phone but manageable on a desktop until this new listing tool
Honestly at this point if your just starting out- I would recommend other platforms that are much faster and simpler to use. My mother just got the notification that she can no longer list on ebay unless she forks over her SS#, photo ID , and get a new checking account!--- she left ebay and was up and selling on Mercari within a week- easier to list and no returns policy- its great, she is very happy and is a 65 year old mom that just sells to buy more stuff lol.

I was hoping that it would be easier on mobile. I guess there are no shortcuts! LOL. That was funny about your mother selling so she could buy more stuff. I’ll try to find a third-party tool that I can stand. Right now, I can’t stand any of it. LOL

I felt the same- I tried out the trial period for 3 different third party listing tools but found that none of them are as good as the current listing flow on ebay with the old listing tool.... Its such a shame that they have the most efficient one page scrolling listing tool that you can multitask on and actually use and they are replacing it with this new burden. Knowing ebay though - they will force us all to switch and then offer the old tool to us for a monthly fee or something lol..... Anything to make a quick buck for the shareholders at the seller's expense. who knows I guess?
Harry Tempkin- I appreciate the effort in trying to move ebay into the future but forcing sellers to use an inferior listing tool that takes longer, is visually jarring ,distracting, inefficient, annoying, and all around unwanted by us customers is not the way to do it. Not everything has to be "unified". The world is not unified. Its ok to have different tools for different tasks. I am sure that it simplifies the back end and customer service but what is the point is half the customers choose to change platforms over it because they physically not stand to use it?------ as a customer- I am asking you to keep the old tool available for those that prefer it.

I agree. Yesterday I spent hours looking for an alternate listing tool and didn’t like any of them.
is it just a matter of choice about whether to use the desktop or mobile app or is there anything that makes one more palatable than the other?
