I'm really annoyed that I spent $36 to ship a package to a person that now wants a refund after realizing that the product only produces 1 gallon of water a day and not 10 gallons of water a day when I specifically mentioned in several areas that it only produces 1 gallon a day. If they send it back, I would be out $106 total.. the person is asking for my address to send it back. Should I be a good person and supply it and be out $106 or should I just let the person figure it out and hopefully doesnt send it back so I can at least be out just $36? I am so **bleep** off at this person for doing this to me, I feel like I shouldn't even tell them my address and just let the return time expire.

@damonsecloro I understand you are angry but you are not handling this correctly. You should always keep your own selling account in mind. If you do not respond to the case, you will receive an unresolved case demerit on your account. This will last for quite some time. If you don't want to spend more money on this then just refund the buyer without a return. This way you do not "spend" another $36. Best of luck to you....

If the buyer has messaged you, but has not opened a dispute, tell them to use the return item button, do that now, then they will not need your address, since it will be on the shipping label you send them. FYI you can have it returned by a cheaper/slower, shipping method as long as there is tracking.
Do not tell the buyer what kind of dispute to open and if they choose not as described, you should prevail, if you point out that its capacity is mentioned in 3 places in the listing. Even if you have to accept the return, they buyer may be responsible for the shipping. If they use a buyer's remorse reason they pay the return shipping.

a buyer is not expected to play hide and seek with you if they want a refund.
you dont really need to respond to his messages at all but you do need to respond to an ebay request
let them make the first move and then take it from there
if you are forced to take it back then there is no fighting it.....a label would need to be paid for.

Well ebay says the return has been automatically approved and to wait for the buyer to send it back.. so that's on the buyer's end to return it.. the buyer is asking me for the shipping address. Well, why the heck would I give it to him? Shouldn't ebay supply that? I'm just going to wait to see if he returns it, if not, im keeping the money. I shouldn't have to give the person anything. This person cost me a ton of money, he should have read the description before spending $500. What a headache.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere that it only produces 1 gallon a day.
If the buyer files an INAD, they'll get your address when you provide a return shipping label.

Provide the return label.
If you don't they can call their credit card provider and file a chargeback and cry to them you won't provide a return label and they get a refund and won't be forced to return it.

If you don't want to give the address to him you don't have to. But sounds like an INAD case has been opened so eBay will still refund the buyer from your funds and because you refuse to supply the label with your address the buyer will also get to keep the item.
I saw the original listing and you did state 0.8 gallons in the item spec's, however you also stated it 'comes with a glass jar, yet in another part of your description you said there was no glass jar. INAD right there.
Chalk this up to experience.

You indicate that it produces 0.8 gallons every six hours. One would expect to get at least 2.4 gallons per day, just running three out of the four potential cycles.

Sounds like eBay has already provided a prepaid return label that you will end up paying for. The buyer might not understand that they have to print out the label and send the item back with that label.
If that is indeed the case, then the ball is in the buyer's court. You wait for the item to be returned before refunding.
Just make sure that the buyer has access to a return label IF you plan on not communicating.
Fyi, the return label eBay provides is a costly one if the package is large and heavy. I normally provide a label and tell the buyer to use the UPS Ground label that I provide to save me some money on the return shipping.

The return request was automatically approved because you have a 14 day return policy.
The buyer should have been charged for and received the return shipping label through the automatically accepted return request.
