hi!!! would appreciate some advice- i sold a pair of dr martens that had only been worn once or twice (personally never had an issue with them squeaking, i just never wore them). the buyer received them and is now requesting a return and full refund, with the reason being that the shoes are faulty because they squeak and are unfit to be walked in because of this, so they're claiming a nad. i'm pretty certain they aren't faulty as loads of shoes squeak, especially dress shoes, when they haven't been worn in. it's also pretty common in dr martens. should i accept the return or as ebay to resolve it?

You have no choice. Some people are very sensitive to sounds too. Just accept the return and pray that they send you back the same shoes in the same condition. Go ahead and block that buyer once they return. You don't want them buying from you again.

If the buyer has already filed a INAD return, you have choices.
1. You can refund now and let the buyer keep the item
2. Accept the return and make sure a prepaid return label is available in the return case. The buyer returns the item and then you refund in full.
Seller protection:
If you are a Top Rated Seller who offers 30-day or longer returns and the buyer returns something different, opened, used, etc. the seller can deduct up to 50% of the refund to recover the decreased value of the item.
3. Do nothing. eBay will step in, close the return, refund the buyer and allow the buyer to keep the item. You also receive a defect on your seller account for having eBay step in and refund.

If you want the shoes returned before refunding, accept the return.
Unless you want to give the buyer a refund, let them keep the shoes and earn a defect, you don't want Ebay to resolve it.
Either way, you'll be refunding, you just have decide if you want them returned before refunding.

Dr Martins shoes are rather stiff for sure and I had issues with them when breaking them in. Some people just do not like that and are not aware that they are notorious for this. I could never wear any of their shoes because they were so uncomfortable.
