Seller sent "new" boots to me that were destroyed in shipping due to poor packing. Instead of sending in a shoe box, the seller sent in a plastic bag!! Seller refused to refund my return shipping. I got in touch with customer service at ebay. The lady told me not to worry and I would get get my $20.05 return postage. So I get in touch with ebay again since I never got the refund and now some woman at ebay cannot understand on what to do and says I will not get the refund. I asked her if the first woman lied to me and she refused to answer. Why would I get stuck for paying return shipping for some crap that was sent to me. Ebay automated assistant is a total joke.. So now that ebay lied to me and will not honor my claim, I will now do business with other companies who care. EBAY-GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.

If you had used the MBG, the seller would have paid return shipping.
Since you paid it, not much you can do.

Every business I know of will provide you with free return shipping when they make a mistake ... but you have to use their return shipping service, and their return shipping process.
You don't have to use eBay's service. You can choose to ship it on your own dime, which you did. But you shouldn't expect to be reimbursed for it.

When the item was received damaged, you should have gone back to the order and opened a claim to "return this item" choosing "damaged" or "not as pictured or described" as the reason.
Had you done that, the seller would have had to pay for and supply the return shipping label (if she wanted the item back) or she could have issued a full refund without requiring a return.
You would have been made whole if you'd followed the policy.
Sorry the seller didn't do the right thing.
But the good thing is that you can leave calm but factual appropriate feedback for the seller.
ETA: I see that you did leave feedback! Seller earned it, IMO.

The seller refused and ebay said they would take care of it and they did NOT. I'm done with ebay after 12 years.

If you paid by credit card, contact your card company.

If the seller wouldn't provide return shipping, you could have returned to the case on day 4 and ask Ebay to step in.
They probably would have refunded you and let you keep the boots.

So you had a problem with one seller, didn't do a return properly, and are now writing off LITERALLY EVERY OTHER SELLER?
Good luck to you wherever you shop next - you're going to need it.

This is an old thread and I’m sure you are not sending anything back to the original poster. If you need to return something, you must do it from your Purchase History on eBay.

They posted that last June, doubt it’s relevant now.
