return request change question

Hello
I sold a camera a few days ago
The description said it was not tested or was for parts or needed repair
I sold it
After a few days the buyer opened a return request saying the camera was not working properly
The positive change I see is that now you can close the return request yourself and optionally add a comment
So the return request was closed
So what should I do now?
It's the first time I've seen this, it's something new, before it wasn't possible and you had to wait
Is this a new change?
Thanks

return request change question

I think we all agree that buyers should read descriptions but unfortunately, they don't. Even if you did list it for parts or repair, buyers can still choose not as described to get a refund if it is within the 30 days of eBay MBG.

The chargeback is a different animal and can be difficult to win but not impossible.

return request change question

What reason did the buyer use to open a return?
If the buyer chose didn't like it, ordered by mistake or found cheaper then the seller with a no returns policy can deny the return.

If the buyer chose not as described, damaged, missing parts or pieces sent wrong item you wouldn't be able to deny the return because Money Back Guarantee overrides a sellers no return policy.
It is nothing new.
If the return is closed because you denied it there's nothing more for you to do. But understand the buyer can now file a chargeback with their credit card for a refund.

return request change question

hello

Thanks for replying
The camera was listed as not tested or need repair
The buyer opened the case saying
Return Reason
Doesn't work or defectiveDoesn't work or defective
In the description it said it was for parts or need repair or not tested

And if there is a chargeback, I will go to my bank and tell them that eBay ruled in my favor then.

I don't know if that can be done
Whenever there was a case before, I had no option to respond
That's why I was surprised now

This is the link of the camera

https://www.ebay.com/itm/205157611335

The description says it very clearly and I don't know how you can open a case like that if the camera was listed for parts or repair
I really don't understand

@cristian3_6    It doesnt matter what your description says.

If the buyer files Not as Described, it is Not as Described.

eBays MBG trumps your description and no returns.

If the buyer files with their CC, going to your bank will do nothing.

Your bank is not involved.

You can't fight a chargeback by telling your bank not to accept it, chargebacks go through eBay similar to a return but you wouldn't be able to deny it. And fighting it will cost you an additional $20 if you lose. Sellers generally never win chargebacks for not as described.
If you were able to deny a not as described return it could be because it was past the 30 day window for MBG.

If you listed the item as used but it did not work, the customer can return it if they choose the correct return request. You did not list the camera for parts or repair.

If you can share some screenshots of the return request (removing personal info) that would be helpful to see what exactly happened.

This is in your description of the camera that states it is in working condition. FYI

Item specifics

Condition
Used: An item that has been used previously. The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear, but is fully operational and functions as intended. This item may be a floor model or store return that has been used. See the seller’s listing for full details and description of any imperfections. See all condition definitions

There is nothing in your description that says it does not work at and you used Used as the condition.

You should have accepted the return request.

return request change question

Of course I understand that, what happened is that my mistake was looking for another similar camera and choosing the option Do you have one to sell?
Sell now

So it was like that but in the description it is very clear how it is described
I suppose the buyer read that
if the buyer had doubts he had to send me a message saying that you said in the list that it works and in the description it doesn't
we all make mistakes we all have errors that is why there are two options
the buyer surely read the description and saw what it said
I don't think anyone buys something so quickly without reading what happens
the seller is not always to blame for everything
the buyer had to realize that there was an error and send a message the camera works or not?
that's what I think

return request change question

Buyers, I have found over the years of selling on eBay, don't read the entire description. Selling items for parts or repair in most cases never works out. If you're not sure something doesn't work, don't sell it.

I'm guessing the sale was for the red camera sold Dec 10th. MBG probably ran out on that item which is why you were able to deny the return. So it's done unless the buyer files a chargeback as I mentioned in my previous reply.

The buyer also sells cameras and has many for sale, so he has experience. It is rare that he buys something without reading the description.
He probably bought it to see if it worked and since it didn't work well he decided to return it.
Also, several days have passed since the purchase because he decided to open the case after a long time.
This is all very strange.

It was your mistake...angdlike you said "we all make mistakes"...

YET you are here blaming the buyer for your mistake. "the description was very clear"

Sellers are 100% for reading their own listing over before listing. You failed to read your own listing and realize your error.
