how or can you return an item that cause a health problem and had to go to E.R to get medicines

hello anyone can you please help me i want to return an item but dont know what to do !! is it possible to return an item that made you break out in hives and welts and had to go to emergency room to get treatment even thou i opened up item i cant seem to find any policy on eBay about health concerns and refunds on what or how to do the process

When I get an item like that, i just toss it and remember to not buy it again.
