Hello, I want to ask just to make sure that a buyer opened a request to return the product to me, and the damage to the product was very minor, so he decided to return a partial refund to the buyer, but the buyer has not responded yet. I want to ask if the buyer asked eBay to solve the problem and eBay accepted to return the product. Will the defect be recorded on my account

Once you enter the realm of offering the buyer a partial refund, the buyer has until the return times out to accept the partial refund.
If the buyers does not accept the partial refund and allows the return to time out, the buyer will receive a full refund from eBay and you will receive a defect on your account. The buyer will not be required to send the item back.

Hi draw,
If the buyer asked eBay to solve the problem and eBay accepted the return, it will be recorded as a defect on the seller's account. However, if the seller already issued a partial refund and the buyer hasn't responded, the seller can contact eBay and request to have the case closed. If the case is closed in the seller's favor, it won't be recorded as a defect on their account.

If the buyer ask Ebay to step in, they might refund the buyer from your account and let them keep the item.
If Ebay gets involved, you will get a defect and your fee's won't be refunded.

This is false.
If the buyer never either accepts or declines the seller's partial refund offer
-- the return request will automatically close without any refund after 21 business days.
eBay cannot take action or close the return, as the buyer has all of that duration to make a choice.
