I recently bought a phone. I realized it wasn't what I wanted. I requested a refund. Later on, I cancelled it out of being scared of doing the wrong thing or w.e. I realized I still wanted to refund the cellphone. The seller message me saying that yes i can refund it still when I already cancelled my refund. I unknowingly sent it back but with a tracking number. It was delivered, the seller confirmed it, cellularstream, but they would say that something went wrong with refund and they sent a ticket to ebay. I waited 8 days before i started getting bad vibes.
I contacted ebay. They pretty much told me that they cannot help me. I cancelled the refund request therefore I am not under the ebay protection program... How am I supposed to know that? How do you expect people to ready policies??? Ebay should have put a warning or disclaimer when someone uses a refund request. I have been on ebay for years and I never knew this. I was a seller as well.
The seller has not contacted me back. Ebay customer service seems to be confused because they would keep saying different things to me. Like"you were the buyer who had a stolen phone right?" or "your phone was defective" or w.e. They didn't not know who they were talking to or why.
The last customer service representative told me that they could refund my money. But the person who emailed me back said they couldn't.
At this point, I am disappointed in way ebay handled this situation. They were supposed to protect me as a buyer, and yet they have their weak excuse as "once you cancell a refund request, they can't undo it..." blah blah blah. Why??? The ebay protection program should protect those who didn't know that canceling would lose the protection. They should protect them, especially people that have shown proof that they refunded the seller.
At this point, I made a negative review of the seller. I saw it yesterday. Today it disappeared. why? How? At this point, I feel defeated and I feel like ebay will only help the bigger guy. CellularStream has stolen my money and ebay let them do it.

Sorry, but once you canceled the return, that closed the case and the end of any help from Ebay.
If you paid using Pay Pal, you can open a case with them and enter the tracking number.
Or, you can open a case with your credit card.

You changed your mind after you purchased the phone.
You opened a return.
Then you changed your mind again and closed the return.
List the item yourself or sell locally…donate to a charity…give to a friend.

Kinda, the OP basically gifted the seller a phone by returning it outside ebay.
A costly mistake.

This is a ridiculous statement. The policy is there for you to read PRIOR to making some very unwise decisions which you did.
It's not the policy's fault that you didn't bother to look it up until after.
