(Who is running the eBay show ? ) Returns from buyers & associated reimbursement

*This is one of our "posting" accounts.

The moment a buyer makes payment to eBay for a purchase, those funds belong to the seller.

In the event those funds are "on hold" by eBay, due to a buyer request to return the item, then

those on hold funds should be paid out to the seller without further delay, IF the seller has

already reimbursed the buyer through the eBay system using a credit card or other funding source.

How long of a delay should a seller expect to wait to get the funds that belong to him or her in a case such as this ?

Thanks for reading,

WB

When you sell on Ebay, you agree to terms which allow Ebay to determine when you receive any money which are the proceeds of your sales.

It is not uncommon to see a 30 day delay in removal of holds, which is consistent with the agreement.

If your funds are on hold due to returns or INR case your funds are not yours until the case is resolved.Either by you refunding a return or proving delivery in an INR case.

In a return case you need to accept the return and issue a return label. The buyer has 15 business days to return, once returned you will have 2 days to refund the buyer. If you don't refund the buyer, the buyer has the right to ask eBay to step in, they will pull the funds from your account, or payment method for paying fees as well as give you a defect for cases closed without a seller resolution. Expect it to take approximately 30 days.

On an INR case you need to prove delivery by submitting tracking information into the case. Can be resolved instantly or take a 30 days.

Disputes through a buyers payment institution can take up to 3 months to resolve.

'dispute with a buyer's credit card'...depends how much information the seller can provide...I won my last one in 8 days.

eBay allows buyers to open claims after 30 days...I had one after a 90 day sale...funds did get on hold for one day and then got released...this was for an item not received...not a dispute with buyer's credit card.

These cases can all be different depending on the reasons...there is no exact time-frame.
