I messed up on a sale. She ordered salad forks and I sent regular forks. She started a return. The same day I wrote her through e-bay and asked her if she wanted the salad forks still. She replied yes she did so I mailed them that day and told her to keep the regular forks. In the meantime E-bay put money on hold and must of gave it back to her yet there is 10 days to the date for that. I wrote in a note to self under the auction the info and new tracking number. I can't find a place to write anything to close it and get paid again. Anyone?

Thank you very much. I googled cs and up popped an article from kensgiftshop and followed it in my e-bay and solved my problem. I have now talked to E-bay.

The buyer will have to close the case, if they receive the correct item before Ebay refunds them.

They have already received the items. What if they don't respond? Why isn't their a spot for me to reply where e-bay will see it?

That has happened to me on occasion.
Here's what I did - and it worked exactly as I wanted.
You say that you sent out the right item - therefore you have the tracking number for that item.
Did you authorize eBay (through the return case) to send them a return label? IF NOT DO IT !
If so then wait for the return tracking number to pop in the case as "buyer has shipped the item".
Then BEFORE you get it back (to short circuit eBay's "return clock") send a note to CS.
This is the template I use:
RE Return case (enter number here) buyer (enter user name)
The return request was because we inadvertently sent the wrong item, which we admit to the mistake. I sent the buyer a note telling him I have sent out the right item. In fact the replacement went out (enter date) by (carrier) tracking number (number) Tracking shows the package was delivered (date).
A prepaid label was sent to send back the original package. USPS tracking (number).
Tracking shows that the return has been handed over to the post office and is currently at the (name the post office) sorting facility and is due back to me this (estimated delivery date).
At this point I am satisfied that the matter is resolved and no refund is due.
What say you?
Please advise

I have ALWAYS gotten a confirmation email back with 24 hours (sometimes sooner). The case has always been closed in my favor with NO refund to the buyer.
BUT YOU MUST BE PROACTIVE - DO NOT WAIT FOR EBAY TO SORT IT OUT ON THEIR OWN !!!!!!

Oh wait a minute I just noticed you told them to keep them. In the case the note to CS should make reference to you telling them to keep them and that no return label was sent.
Nonetheless, tell CS that you are satisfied the matter is resolved and ask them to close the case. Same result.

So eBay can close the return before the return is delivered?

If you follow the procedure I gave you eBay will close the return AT YOUR REQUEST because the matter has been resolved by sending the correct item as the buyer requested. If you do not tell eBay what you are doing/have done then you run the risk that they will close the return WITH a refund. They are not mind readers. YOU have to TELL them what has happened.

I don't know what cs even means much less I can't find a place to contact them in my e-bay. I paid for shipping. I gave them the first items and sent the second ones. They have both. I have a second tracking number to tell them but have no idea what to do with it. I have never contacted e-bay for anything and having trouble just getting around to get information. I have clicked everything I can find to look for help to no avail. Thank you
