Two returns in one day and both beyond the 30-day return policy. I accepted the one which was over 60 days because of a medical hardship the buyer stated had come up with his wife that I felt was real. The second I am up in the air with. NO eBay return was opened, it just showed up today in the mail without any note whatsoever. Just the coin and the original invoice. It is 31 days and beyond the 30-day period as confirmed with eBay CS. I sell mostly coins, so here is the rub. 30% or so of my coins sold are raw and sent in heat-sealed flips which is an industry-standard practice. The heat-sealed portion of the flip was cut open and the coin returned in the other open side of the flip. The buyer has 10 FB and is a newbie. My business policy on returns is firm on the returns of unsealed coin holders. I have been selling on eBay for over 23 years on my other main ID. Even though I haven't had many returns in that period, they still cost money to ship, etc. as I offer free S/I. In this case almost $15 in S/I. $225 coin purchase. Obviously, I know what my options are, but I am curious as to what you would do in this case. Thanks for any replies!

I would just sit on that one. I would put it aside and wait for the buyer to contact you. I would not initiate the contact.

Partial Refund minus the cost that you paid to ship it. It wouldn't sit right with me to keep the money and the coin if it was in the same condition it was sent. Some people also say you can refund minus the cost of shipping and the fees but when I do a partial refund it seems to give me my fees back.

Thanks. Since I posted this I found that the coin has a file test mark on the edge which when I compared it to the magnified photos in the auction does not show. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Well, that was an option that I actually had not thought of. Thanks.
