I sold an item, it was returned. I am trying to refund the buyer but it seems my paypal will not allow it. There is no way to contact ebay (they have insulated themselves) I just want to refund the buyer and have my paypal functioning again.

Is there enough cash in your PayPal to issue the refund? Remember that you've got to have enough for their fees in there...

It will take as many days as eBay needs to managed payments to your checking account, as you need to transfer funds from your bank to your PayPal account to cover the refund.

PayPal won't backfill your refund from a bank account or a credit card anymore.

Instead @teem-green have someone PayPal cash as a Friends & Family payment instantly into your PayPal balance to cover the entire payment the buyer originally made, sales tax, shipping, fees, everything. eBay will reimburse the sales tax to you immediately afterwards

Paypal says I need to add money to my paypal account, paypal will not allow me to transfer money from my bank to paypal. I'm handcuffed here, will they just take it from my bank eventually?

I'm pretty sure there's an open dispute, I've never been down this road before just trying to refund the buyer and be done with it.

No, they won't take it from your bank account.

The funds have to be in your Pay Pal account.

Do you have friends or family that can send you the funds, then pay them back.
