So i recently sold a iphone to a buyer. After they got the item they started asking me many questions . Come to find out the buyer lives in vietnam and i mailed it to a friend of his in florida. Which was red flag 1 , after me being nice and trying to explain to him how the phone works he says thanks i am happy with my purchase . Then 3 days later after my funds are released to me. He messages me making false claims saying the phone isnt unlocked it wont work in my country. Heres pictures ill prove it, yet i sent pics that phone is paid off and unlocked also the pic of the phone is a black phone the one i sold was blue. So he made a claim case saying item aint as described . How can he claim item aint as described when he doesnt even have the item ? He also has an account with someone elses bank and address info on it. I spoke to multiple ebay agents and they said im protected and based off the messages i can claim it as fraud since they said they were happy with the purchase and dont even have the item to make a claim. Yet im stuck with funds on hold and in a claim battle that should have never happened.
what are the chances the ebay chat agents are right and will this claim after they return the item. Cuz they said i have to accept the return first before i can report the false claim using the evidence ebay has they also offered to step in for me once i make the claim .

If the buyer had the phone shipped from his friend in Fl., to Vietnam, he lost his buyer protection with that reshipping. Did you let Ebay know this?

Very slim.
They will say what you want to hear so they can get you off the phone quicker and go to the next caller.
If you can convince Ebay they used a freight forwarder and had it shipped to another country, you might have a slight chance, but wouldn't count on it.

Let me begin with some truths that you need to absorb:
That said, since the buyer has opened a "not as described" Money Back Guarantee claim with you, then here is what happens:

They didn’t ship it to them in Vietnam , the buyer never even got or held the phone I sold them . Their friend in Florida just sent pics and tested the phone for them. But how can eBay trust a 3rd party in this situation

If you haven't yet, you need to accept the return and provide a shipping label and refund when something is returned.

I ain’t refunding him anything lol he said in a message he was happy with his purchase then days later . Claims item ain’t as described , also they can’t take his word for it when in a message he clearly stated he never had the item I sold him. He had a friend check it out for him .
eBay told me that all that voids his money back / return claim and that I have enough proof and documentation that will back up a fraudulent claim .
seems like they were trying to scam and get a free phone . eBay even told me not to refund them multiple times and after I hit accept return and get the item and inspect it then message them and report it was a fraudulent claim and I will be safe under seller protection.

They never shipped it to them in Vietnam they just had their friend send pics and play with the phone and the buyer in Vietnam made claims they couldn’t verify since they didn’t even have the item on hand . Just taking a 3rd party advice

eBay won’t care, they will refund him after the return tracking on the return label they will make you pay for shows delivery(and even if it doesn’t). I don’t recommend anyone sells their iPhone here. No matter what the “buyer” returns, you’ll be forced to refund. That’s the reality here. Best luck to you…

You'll find out soon that CS don't know what they are talking about half the time and as far as seller protection, there isn't much.
If it had been reshipped, that would void their MBG.
As long as it was shipped to the address they provided, doesn't matter who check the phone at that address, they are covered by the MBG.
After it's returned, you'll have two days to issue the refund.
If you don't, Ebay will refund from your account and they'll keep their fee's.

I accepted the return , eBay said don’t refund them . File that it’s a fraudulent claim and they will handle it

lol you sound really mad like if eBay screwed you before and think they will screw everyone else.

You’re also forgetting buyers are protected too . He voided his MBG and buyer protection . When he messaged he was satisfied with his purchase then days later claimed item wasn’t as described. You can’t just turn around and make a claim after saying that . When I get it back I’m filing it was fraudulent and send all the proof and documentation I have supporting it. It seems like everyone believes buyers always win . Which can’t be true since I been screwed over as a buyer before .

Im sorry to say, yes he can. Ebay doesnt look at emails, they can be doctored. As the others have told you, Ebay will refund him.He didnt 'void' anything.

No, they didn't void their MBG.
You'd be surprised how many sellers come here complaining after the buyer has been refunded because they listened to CS.
If you don't refund, they will refund from your account, give you a defect and they will keep their fee's.
