Returns

So I have learned this is how Ebay's returns work.... first they pressure you to offer returns because even if you state no returns it does not matter.... someone buys your item, receives it shipped to them fully insured, first class and decides they want to return it for w/e reason, devious or otherwise. ... The item clearly stated any returns need to be as they recieved it and they covered shipping.
So all they have to do is SAY a item (watch) "appears" to be a knock off "to them" ... the band is too short, and case size is not correct . With pictures of watch that look like they were taken with 1990 phone camera, so dark and crapy I dont even know the point... so dark and blurry you couldnt hardly see it. All of this information was stated in auction and the specs. are well documented online for the model sold. After researching I went to the Raymond Weil web site and "registered" the watch using the laser etched serial # printed on the watch, which In return I got documents stating the # is an authentic watch from them. At the very least I should not had to cover return cost since it was EXACTLY as described and authetic. Ebay gives NO recourse to seller... something was shipped back with min. shipping and no insurance at all and tracking says it was delivered ... I got no package and apparently it was stolen which wasn't a surprise since I never have anything sent here for that reason.... Ebay says case closed, dont want to hear from you and there is no way to to contest anything and preceeded to take the money out of my account with the original shipping cost which was costly. So this cost me the money plus original shipping and the watch! Says case close and despite what they state.... there is no way to complain to anyone and as far as they are concerned the case is closed..... BEWARE, sell on ebay at your own risk with their fees and policies it will become a scammers paradise once people know there is no recourse for sellers and you will take a huge cut in any profits and then pay taxes on item, including tax and who know what else.
Anyone selling anything over 50 bucks on Ebay is taken a huge chance and will have to absorb the cost   EBAY rakes in millions and screw you all but says " thank you for being a part of Ebay after they inform you of how you are screwed ...

They think they are smart how they ignore what you are really looking for in their "online" we dont want to hear it "HELP" **bleep** CASED CLOSE. 😞
I guess I can report it to police and BBB. Have to look into that before its too late.

@kvnjas307

I made one small word change to your sentence highlighted above.

(You say the package returned to you was stolen; if it was shipped ground advantage and tracked, and you did not receive it, you can certainly file a claim with USPS.)

Millions of sellers operate on eBay assuming that all they need to say is "no returns" and they are covered.  Millions more, like you, think that they can set the conditions under which a return can take place.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

eBay definitely puts the onus on sellers here; we must be prepared to take a complete loss on our most expensive listings.

That's because eBay does not have the resources to mediate every single dispute that arises.

All you can do now is report the buyer and block him.  It's a shame.

I sell old, boring things like bone china, porcelain, antiquarian books and MCM glass -- stuff that criminals have no interest in.

Watches are merchandise I personally am not nearly courageous enough to sell, along with coins, stamps, jewelry, high end trading cards, phones, computers and other electronics.

eBay seller since 1999. This is a posting ID.

Returns

What you a describing is mentioned here all the time. You learned a lesson which pretty much all the regulars here already know. Yes buyers can return an item no matter what. If they want to return they can. The words "no return" means nothing. If an item is not described they can return. If you feel it was described the buyer can still lie. They will just make you purchase the return label. As far as the item shipped back and stolen unfortunately Ebay goes by tracking number. It stated delivered so that's all they go by. So once delivered you are required to refund the buyer. If you don't they step in and you will get a defect. There really isn't much you can do about porch pirates. You would lose. You should contact the carrier just to find out if the package was actually delivered.
