I have recently been having a problem with a buyer. This buyer was keen on my item until it arrived, saying that it was not as described when I had multiple conversations about it and even in my description offered more in depth pictures. I was just looking through my messages about it and saw that the buyer sent the message about the condition before the item even arrived. I am sure I am getting scammed, especially because he almost immediately asked ebay to step in with the return so I have no way to combat the case. I am now having 1800 pulled from my bank account. Any help on how to fix this?

First off, I want to congratulate you for a wonderful collection. Most of your heavy items need to be in museums
All of your conversations via eBay message system are recorded and eBay has access to them. All you need is to just refer to them by date and time
If Buyer filed for an INAD, item not as described, and you have a no return policy, eBay will force a return on you. So, just take that return and send out a return label now before eBay steps in. Under recent eBay directive, a return is automatic and done by software. If eBay steps in, no one is there to listen to you
If Buyer damages your item, wouldn't return or any other issues arise, come back, we'll help you.
Don't worry, you and me are going to give hell to that Buyer before you get scammed for $1800 of your hard earned money
Once you have the item back, raise your price to cover your loss and repost your sales venue. Don't worry, you'll sell it. This process has been tested

I am facing almost this exact situation with a phone. I recorded myself packaging the device 2 ways - on my phone so I have up-close video of the undamaged device and on the security camera that normally covers my back door and was turned covering the kitchen counter where I was packaging the phone. The video clearly shows the phone going into the box (more on that in a second) and then into 4 layers of bubble wrap before going into a very well-secured box that was guaranteed to get the phone to the buyer safely even if the carrier played soccer with the box (and I've seen that very thing recently, so I prepare as if it could happen every time...my packages are prepared for war basically).
This was a used S9, and the box it was shipped in was from a brand new S9 I bought at a discount to trade into AT&T (too long to describe why here, but I promise the math worked). Thus, the box was NOT from this phone and the listing clearly said that right in the 1st paragraph. Fast forward to delivery day. The buyer immediately reports this as being damaged with a nasty scratch on it that he / she had to have done (because my video clearly shows it wasn't there as I sealed up the box), and then spends literally paragraphs complaining about the box not being from the same phone and the IMEI / Serial #s on the box being blacked out.
I referred the buyer back to the listing at least 5 times, but they were insistent that I had defrauded them, and kept trying to post their own video of the phone, but not taken at the time it was open. They kept taking new pictures and video as if it matters at that point for evidence.
At any rate, of course, eBay approved the return today despite me sending them at least 3-4 different messages asking them not to do so, reporting the buyer for fraud at least twice, etc. I already responded and said I would be submitting a 50% refund at most, as the pictures the buyer sent show it's coming back to me damaged in a way I can prove it was not when I sent it.
I'm sure I sound irrational, but long ago, I had an account locked out by eBay for the very same thing when a buyer totally defrauded me over the same type of garbage and eBay refused to accept that I never got the phone back and still gave the guy my money. Anyone have any advice?

@goblues44 People don't respect anything these days
Take the return, fix the scratch, there are products you could apply to take care of it
Add your expenses to your Sales Venue, repost and resale the item. Hopefully, next time you've better luck

Sorry, the buyer will get a full refund.

You are correct, you have no way to combat the case. This platform offers a money back guarantee to all buyers. Your own no returns policy is superseded by eBay’s return policy in the TOS. Unless this is a buyer’s remorse type of return you will have to refund. Once the buyer selects INAD you will have to pay for the return shipping or eBay will deduct it from your account, regardless of what you stated in your own listing. Your best bet is to accept the return and issue the return label or you will also receive a defect on your selling account. It happens; it's a part of selling online. Best of luck to you....

"Don't worry, you and me are going to give hell to that Buyer before you get scammed for $1800 of your hard earned money."
Sure would like to hear the explanation for that statement.

If you believe that you will be able to get away with "submitting a 50% refund at most", then I am sorry to tell you that you are delusional.

And that's a lovely little story, providing that the O/P gets returned to them, the same item that they shipped out- 🤞🤞🤞

@dubiousgainFYI that's not the original poster or O P
You're right, but depending on Seller, many options, including a Lawsuit, are available

Thank you. I have contacted ebay support and the buyer will not respond to my messages on how to return the item. Looks like he is just trying to take the item and my money and run. What ebay customer support told me is that I should be able to schedule a return with him, but given that he will not communicate I don’t necessarily know what to do.

Ebay told me that the case has been taken to “specialists”. Also on my account it still says a case is open. I tried emailing the buyer a few days ago asking how we could schedule a return and they never responded. I have no clue on how to contact the buyer and receive a response. Hopefully eBay takes my side seeing I tried to contact them but I doubt it. I would suggest that you contact eBay and tell them exactly how it was packaged and hopefully they believe us. Good luck

I wondered that but I couldn't see who you were responding to.

Call eBay one more time and ask eBay/rep to help you with sending a label to the Buyer
Rep might say; You could always wait till eBay Steps In
Your reply should be; Please help me to send a label to this Buyer, I am behind my computer
Remember, once you have the item back, you have only 2 hours to inspect the item starting on the tracking delivery time. If something was wrong, call eBay immediately
Refund is automatic but because of high value, transfer of funds are slow. So that gives you a window of about 2 hours. Don't panic please, I've seen it up to 48 hours sometimes
Label,
You're welcome Chief 🙂
