I have a store here on ebay, [Removed by Moderator] and sell primarily kayak products. I design and 3d print every item I sell. I recently had a guy place an order for a product that I designed, a double order actually, of kayak seat risers. This particular product is a fairly good seller relative to most of the others and I have sold a fair amount of them. This particular order the buyer requested a return, stating the product did not fit his kayak. Never said exactly what kayak he has, but that's neither here nor there. The thing is ebay immediately approved the return and gave his money back, about $95, which is fine I suppose with the exception that, I assumed, he was to return the products. I have message both the buyer and ebay about the return of my products and have never heard back from the buyer, did receive a couple of messages from ebay stating thanking me for reporting the issue, then telling me they would look into it but would not be able to report to me the results,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, what the hell does that mean? I state that I will gladly accept returns as long as they are not damaged by misuse, basically heat damage and have done so on several occasions, but this particular time I was not even notified until the buyer had all his money back and still to this day, (been close to 2 months now) I still have not heard a single thing that makes me think I'll ever get my products back. Anyone have any idea what's going on in a case like this?

If Ebay had to step in and refund the buyer, they let the buyer keep the item.

I can't help you with this particular issue, but have you taken a look at your return preferences?
https://www.ebay.com/rtn/Return/SellerRules
Make sure that none of your rules say "Send a refund automatically"

Ebay didn't exactly "have to step in", they refunded in full before I knew anything about the buyer wishing for a refund. I have no problem with refunds but I do have a problem with just giving away product and paying the shipping to boot.

I'll do that for sure, thanks for the heads up!
