Returned Item

Seller sent me a prepaid label, tracking number: 9405511108338803725728 This was sent 12/16/2021 and shows delivered 12/17/2021. Seller told me the return shows closed on their end, on my end it says: You requested a return - the seller should respond soon. If I click View return details it says: You need to select a carrier to ship the item back to the seller. We've included estimated costs to help you choose. If you don't have a printer, choose to use the return code. then 2 choices and the says: How you'll pay

We'll deduct the shipping cost from the amount of your refund. These are estimated label costs to return your item. The actual shipping cost is determined when the carrier scans the shipping label. By tapping "Confirm," you're confirming the label for your return and your responsibility for shipping costs.
The Seller sent me a prepaid label and told me to wait on ebay to process the refund. Question is, does this seem right?  or am I SOL? And out the item and my $$$. What can i do to get my $$$  back?

Re: Returned Item

Have you sent the seller a polite message noting that you see that your returned item was delivered on 12/17 and ask them what kind of time frame to expect for processing of returns?

Re: Returned Item

Thanks for the reply. Yes I sent a couple polite messages. Their response was, I needed to close out my return claim before they could process the refund. I know that this similar issue happened before where I opened a return claim and the seller said they would refund me and I can do whatever with the broken item and was told I needed to close the return claim before they could issue a refund as no option for a refund was available. I agreed and closed that claim(in that situation I still had the item, so I was willing to trust the seller and closed the claim-and got screwed.) So I was hesitant on this item as I had no item and out $$$. I thought about it and decided to close the claim and swallow my losses if any. Thankfully the seller refunded me the money 1/2 hour after closing the claim. So why ebay doesn't allow sellers to refund buyers if a claim is opened is beyond me and I think is plain **bleep** and wrong.

Re: Returned Item

In your previous case, obviously, you closed the case too soon. Honest Seller refunded you. Seller had an option not to

How ever, your current case is a new program by eBay. Buyers are paying for the return shipping if Seller has an option to ask. What's the Seller's return policy? What was your reason to return?

 @north40sales Seller has 48 hours or two business days to refund after a return.  That rule never changes

If a seller tells you they can't refund while the case is open, they are lying to you.

A seller can refund when there is a case open.

Some sellers will tell they can't, hoping you'll close the case so they don't have to refund.

Have a great day.

@andharp0

Open a return case with Paypal, when they advise you to return the item you upload the tracking number you have from the label the seller sent you, as it has already been delivered and you should get your refund pretty quick.

If that fails, go to a chargeback on your credit card
