Hi, I am a first time seller and have a buyer that is requesting a refund. When I go to refund the buyer it asks me to add a bank account for the return to be deducted from if my available funds are insufficient. Does this deduct from the funds on hold that the buyer first paid with or from my bank account. Since my funds are on hold, the only available funds I have are in the negative from the sellers fees. Any advice?

You have to provide a credit card or select your checking account to cover any refunds or fee's not covered by the available funds in your MP account.

If this the the item you just sold how are they asking for a refund already? Are they just asking for a refund or have they done it through eBay? If they are just asking have them start a return. Do not refund them until you have the item back.

If they just bought it and it hasn't been shipped, why would you have them file for a return?
Just cancel the order as buyer requested.

When you cancel the buyer gets their refund but eBay charges you a transaction fee and that charge is taken from the payment method you attached for seller fees.
