I returned a item to eBay but according to E bay the money was returned  to my debit card

but my debit card was cancelled. I cannot get in contact with Ebay their sytem is kicking me out,

If I call they rexpect that I choose from one particular subject if no,the system will hang  up

Refunds must be returned to the original funding source. Can you contact your bank for a remedy?

If your debit card was connected to your bank account, the refund would be in your bank account.

I had this happen to me with an airline refund before, unfortunately for me it went back to a card where the bank had closed down so I had to fight for my own money. 

All you should have to do is contact your bank and they will be able to track down the money and get it back to you at some point. If the debit card was one unconnected to a personal banking account, try calling the number on the back and explaining that you can't get the refund.
