Refund cannot be received after returned the item to bestbuy store 17 days ago

Does anyone know how long it would take to get a refund from BestBuy ebay after returning the item to their local store?

I returned it on Jan. 3 with a receipt received. The item was paid by PayPal originally. It's been 17 days. 

Tried to contact bestbuy ebay serveral times, got the same response each time as below

"We apologize for any inconvenience. Once we have received your return your refund will appear on your account within 5 - 7 business days (if paid by PayPal)

Thank you,
Best Buy Customer Care Team"

But the more they confirmed I should got my refund within 5-7 biz days, the more concern and worrisome I collected for my delayed refund.... it's $1100 laptop....

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Why did you return it to a local store?

If you  bought it through Ebay, you need to do the return through Ebay for a refund.

You bought the item on eBay so you would return the item on eBay.

Just because a Seller calls themselves "BestBuy" it doesn't mean they are affiliated with your local Retailer Best Buy. 
Unless you can retrieve the item from the local retailer you're basically out of luck. 
To return an item for refund this is how it's done....

You go to your purchase history, click the drop down menu it will either say RETURN THIS ITEM or MORE ACTIONS. 

Next click the reason for return from the options shown below...

Why are you returning this item?

Ordered by mistake

Arrived damaged

Don’t like it

Missing parts or pieces

Changed my mind

Item is defective

Received wrong item

Doesn't fit

Found a better price

Doesn't match description or photos

You may be required to upload a picture, after that you can click submit, complete return. 
Your seller has 2 days to issue a return label or refund, if by day 3 you don’t receive a return label or refund. You can go back to the case and that’s when you can ask eBay to step in.

Return an item to eBay from ebay.

Best Buy is a store... that takes returns if you purchase at Best Buy stores.

I suggest you to return to store to get your money to giving them a laptop or get laptop back...you have a receipt which should solve that....go to customer service at Best Buy.

Who told you that you could return your item to a Best Buy B&M store? 

I don't see anything on any of Best Buy's listings that says returns can be made to local stores. Their ebay listings have a 14 day return policy with buyers paying return shipping but that would be done through the ebay order.

It's listed on the bestbuy website as their policy according to Bestbuy  on eBay

I talked to bestbuy to get this returning policy for items purchased from ebay bestbuy

I'm confused if they cannot return to store for items on ebay bestbuy, why even listed there?

Already went back to the store, but they said a check already mailed to ebay right after the return.

But i have no way to receive my refund from ebay....

Have you checked your Paypal account? The credit might be shown there. 
If you used a credit card on PP, you should also check the c.c. account.

Are you able to go to you eBay account and start a return?  Maybe if you selected the item for a return there will be some information about the status of the refund with eBay.

And this would be one reason why I despise nationwide and big box stores having accounts on ebay, they literally make their own policies and ebay lets them do so but... Their policy doesn't fit in with ebays policies so when there's a problem ebay's policies override the B&M's policies and an unaware buyer gets caught in the crossfire.

Chances are with Best Buy you're going to be fine, but there are others here (and many AZN ones) who aren't friendly with buyers and if you don't follow ebay policy they will happily keep your money (and the item if you've returned it) and hand you gratuitous lip service filled with ignorant blissfulness.

My suggestion, learn ebay inside and out and in the future use ebay to deal with any of them because ebay's Money Back Guarantee (aka MBG) is ironclad. Quite a few times I've gotten into an issue with these B&M and big box and nationwide sellers but I stuck with ebay's policy and ultimately when I stick with ebay I get my money back. Further, sometimes I have to return an item (all depends how intelligent the seller is) and if the seller is ignorant I may be unable to return the item and they get a slap! for failing to resolve an issue with a buyer.

Yes sir, don't trust individual sellers with their lingolese policies.

Educate yourself on that MBG and stick to ebay's policies when it comes to resolving issues.

Ebay will not let you down, but in case of a return you would have to follow the process described by other members.

BestBuy, the big blue box retail store has been selling on eBay since 2012 and has sold 5.3 million items. Their feedback of 97 is horrible. They instruct eBay buyers to return by mail or take it to a Best Buy store. Refunds normally take 5-7 business days but this is a time when Best Buy handles a lot of returned Christmas gifts so it could take a little longer.
