Please help,
I sold an expensive and unique, brand new in the box never opened Kohler faucet.
The buyer is requesting a refund saying the item is defective because they don't like the
water flow and there is a squeaky sound and they had a plumber say it was defective.
This is an $800 faucet and I won't be able to resell so I am just wondering if I am able to
ask for the diagnosis by the plumber to be sure that is indeed what is happening or
they could just be saying it because they changed their mind. Happy to refund if faulty, but
want to be sure that it truly is faulty.
Suggestions?
Thanks

Sure you can always ask the buyer. But you have to gauge the buyer/situation and decide if that question would create more problems with the buyer or not. If it won’t, then go ahead. Just note that the buyer doesn’t need to oblige as per ebay policy. All they need to do is file an “item not as described” return within 30 days and ebay will eventually allow them to get their full refund back as well as original/return shipping costs. Most likely they’ll take it out of your funds.

If you bought an item like this at a retail store and had a problem with it you could return it with no questions asked. The reason? They believe the customer and trust that they will be back to buy more.
The only thing you can do is return it and refund their money. I'm not sure of your sources but maybe you could return it as well?
Just my thoughts, no one is going to install a water faucet and then take it back out if it worked correctly. That is not a easy job.
