A seller asked me to provide them with priority express 2 day shipping which is around $40. I changed the settings on eBay and the buyer had to pay the shipping. Fast forward a week, and the buyer claimed that the product was defective. They returned it, and I could not find any defect with it at all with what he described. I was forced to refund him.
I contacted support and they returned my seller fees, however they said there is nothing that can be done for the shipping fee. So is it generally a bad idea to be nice and oblige to the buyer's shipping method requests? Or is there any way I can get my $40 shipping fee back?

Sellers are always on the hook for all shipping in a INAD return case. Have to be careful with that.

Gosh, sorry that happened to you; that would be a very frustrating situation.
Be sure and put that seller on your BBL.

-Use the Report Buyer link on the transaction, they are abusing the return process
-I use Free 30 day returns and would have withheld their original shipping since they are abusing the system
-Depending on the item doing what you did was okay ... for myself I wouldn't do it ...
