Photo always required for return, but none are accepted! What ?? !!

Used home therapy device does not work properly bc of something inside mechanism. I explain in words but then ebay page insists on photo(s). How many required? It doesn't say, and in fact none I try are accepted. ! The continue button never goes live. + What is the purpose of photo here anyway? There is None. I am not going to open to inside - which seller themselves never did.

Is this standard ebay requirement, or did seller choose it as option?

Many irritations on ebay over 24 years, but none more aggravating than this. 😖😖

Some return requests require a picture of the item and others don't. (It's not predictable.) If they're requiring a picture, you can't continue until the picture is shown.

AFAIK, just a single picture is necessary and you can either upload or drag and drop it.

It is not standard.

However, we here do not know how many returns you have done in the past or refunds and such in the past.

I tried 2 ways. Used pic from the sale. A white X immediately shows in corner of pic suggesting it is not ok. Indeed, continue button does not activate. OK, they dont want seller's own pic so  -- I go to web and use mfr. pic. Same result. To check I try other reasons for return. All require a pic!

Perhaps seller has found way to foil ebay return protocol, all returns, and ebay just rolls with it?

I'm slow and rare to anger but this got me.

Check the size of the file to make sure it is within acceptable file size limit.

The most common photo file types are .jpg and .png

Those I know are accepted.

In the text box where you type in why you are returning the item, break it into 2 sentences with a carriage return, like this example:

The item was not as described.

The item did not work.

Is this OK? Is it too long, too detailed? (After I clicked 'Item is Defective'))

"Unit does not cycle off. At first I used 2 or 3 times, was adequate tho something not right as pause time dial had no effect. Now it starts up but runs continuously, will not shut off/deflate unless power switch is used -- manually.
Received well packaged & intact but problem is inside. Note: If ebay requires seller pays for return label I will accept refund of price only. In cases of good faith, used item, I do not want/expect seller pays post both ways.
Thank you."

Experts here always making excuses for ebay. I've bought dozens items over years, maybe two returns. I remember. Besides, if these other excuses are the 'real problem' why the subterfuge? Can't be direct?

If my first try is seller's own photo, how can it be wrong size or type?

This is what happens when people allow themselves to be enslaved by computerized technology.   Especially when people allow themselves to be enslaved to SLAVEphones.   I for one hate those stupid things.

Computerized Technology is not making our lives better.  It is dumbing everyone down and making people lazy.

And If eBay does not improve their customer service by transferring us to an actual live human being, then maybe we should stop using eBay if this is the way these corporate suits treats their customers.   (Mandy)

No one is forcing you to stay here.
