Need to return an item after all after cancelling return

Hi

I will try and keep this post simple...

-Bought a phone that seemed to be defective

-Messaged seller for advice but no response came

-Raised a cancellation request as no response

-Seller responded and suggested a fix

-Fix worked so i cancelled the return

-Few hours later i realised that the fix did not last long and phone is defective

-Tried to start the return again but am unable to see how this can be done

Once closed a refund return request cannot be reopened however if you paid with PayPal you can open a refund request with them

i paid by credit card- id try section 75 but that is for over £100 i think.

the item is clearly defective and ao should be returnable.

if i went in to a shop with a defective item and then they fixed it and 5 minutes later it broke again then there would be no hesitation from the shop to give a return.

can someone from ebay please contact me about this

There's nothing Ebay will do, you closed the case.

Incorrect! EBay have been extremely helpful and advised to return to seller anyway and if seller does not refund then they will sort it

If you got that advice from phone or chat customer service reps, I’d take it with a huge grain of salt.

Returning an item without an open claim could leave you without the item and the money.

I suggest you contact the bank who issued your credit card and file a chargeback.

I have written confirmation that eBay will sort it- which is a huge relief.

i will also speak to credit card company but as it is under £100 I don’t think they will get involved unfortunately

Wrong, the case is closed, they won't do anything.

If you just ship it back to the seller, you'll be out the phone and money.

I’m sorry but I can’t count the numbers of buyers who had been told by customer service that it was all sorted only to come back, disappointed that they had been lied to. 

Unless this was written to you by eBay in Facebook or Twitter DMs, you were fed the usual spiel meant to pacify you and move on to the next call.

I truly hope it works out for you, but I wouldn’t count my chickens till they hatched.
