I used to have free return shipping set up for my store. When a return request came in, I could simply upload a return label from a carrier of my choice. Now, eBay automatically sends a return label to the buyer which I don't want. (Inflated shipping prices, I could get much cheaper rates shopping around for my own labels)
Because of this, I have had to change my return policy to buyer pays return shipping and when a return request comes in manually message the buyer with the free return label, hoping that they see it before they buy one themselves. I have already had an issue where I messaged a buyer multiple times and even e-mailed them a free return label and they STILL bought one of their own. 🤦🤦
I WANT to offer free 30 day returns to all my buyers, I just don't want eBay automatically sending expensive return labels on my behalf if I choose to do so.
How do I accept free returns again while being able to upload my own label?

When you enable RMA @sale_tiger it screeches the returns process to a halt for 2 days, for you to either refund no return needed, or to upload your own return label instead.

Thank you for solving my issue in a matter of minutes. Ebay support couldnt figure it out in half an hour lol... @teth_1615.
So if I enable RMA I can set my policy back to 30 day free returns and Ill have the option to upload my own labels?

the other poster is correct.you have more control with the RMA way
incidentally I get 24 retuns a year and the labels cost me about $3.75 each
I am never charged more for a label than I paid for one.my average weight is 6- 8 ounces
ebay knows exactly how much my 1st class shipping is and thats how it comes back
