I've tried to follow the not so great instructions from eBay since I shipped back a return prior to getting the shipping label and am having trouble marking as sent. Instructions from eBay say to go to the item, hit more actions then click mark as sent and enter tracking information. "Mark as Sent" is not an option on anything I can find. Any suggestions?

If you can put in the tracking it will automatically show as shipped.
Edited to ask: Why didn't you use the provided prepaid label?

Because I haven't had to return something on eBay in years and already had the sellers info and after they sent me a eBay message saying to send it back for a refund I thought that was it then the next day I got a label sent but by then it was way too late

I've tried to follow those steps on both my phone and a PC but it's not as simple as it is typed out. Under purchase history I go to the return request, however the only options I have on the return request as to print label, view the label on a QR code for the post office, view details (which doesn't have any options to select anything) or cancel return

Is there a place where you can add a note or message and post the tracking number?

I found a spot to add a note but eBay is still showing it as not shipped. I did email the seller the tracking information the day I shipped it and it was delivered on 6/17. My problem is that now the seller isn't responding to me and I haven't received a refund on a over 400 dollar item. the eBay return details say I need to ship it by 6/27 or the return will be closed. I'm afraid that if I'm unable to mark as shipped and I don't hear back from the seller that I'm screwed

At this point, I'd contact ebay through ebay for business facebook and send a message explaining the situation. They are actual ebay employees and they have the ability to access your account and see what's going on.
It's possible they can manually add your tracking number and get the refund released if the seller isn't cooperating.

It's my understanding that when a label has been sent, that tracking number is automatically added to the return. Once it has been added, the only way for a buyer to enter a different tracking number is to contact ebay as others have suggested. Apparently this is to prevent fraud but they really should explain to buyers what to do.
