Help! Return Gone Wrong!

I am a Buyer who purchased some clothing which did not fit. Requested return and was sent return label. Went to the library, printed label, taped it on the package and went directly to post office. I had no idea that I was supposed to send a code to ebay, as the last time I made a return, I simply printed the label and sent it back and was refunded. There was no mention in any of the emails of this step, either.

I later received the email saying that I needed to send the items back (they should have arrived to the seller already) and found out I was supposed to have provided proof (which is what I thought the return label was anyway) and tried to make it happen. However, when I tried to put in the data, menu would not load on my device and I accidentally sent some kind of auto-fill data. I immediately tried to contact seller, but got message "Seller can not answer your question" and could find no way to contact ebay, either.

Ebay has now closed the returns and indicates that they can "step in" but nowhere can I find HOW to make anything happen. I'm at a loss here, in more ways than one.

This is a known glitch at eBay, going on a year now but never fixed.

- eBay issued the return label,

- and eBay has that tracking number on file @di7382

- but took no action when your seller did not voluntarily refund for the return.

Now leave a private message here for eBay on Facebook,

- to ask eBay to find your return tracking number,

- to issue your refund.

Come back and let us know how it turned out?

Re: Help! Return Gone Wrong!

In my opinion...just mine...I feel buyer probably doesn't do Facebook as I do not also. They went to library for a return label. Didn't even know you can get a return label from a library. It is rather complicated for some people who are not on Facebook or do not have an iphone (scan the code) to do the process of returning something. It is assumed everyone including seniors have a printer or an iphone or can read everything about returning one item or is on Facebook.

Probably doesn't have a printer, so went to the public library because they have computers that the public can use and print from.  That's how you get a return label from the library.  🙂    I retired from  the public library, and helped lots of people use the computers and printers.

Re: Help! Return Gone Wrong!

Correct to assume that I do not use Facebook.com.

Also correct to assume that I do not have home computer, and so printed labels from my local public library.

Public libraries are essential.

In the same way @di7382 that you came to the boards to ask other members for help,

-- not to share your favorite recipes, tell a joke, or post photos of a nice item you just bought,

--  and you find your way back here to read the replies, even though you don't have a home computer,

you would open a Facebook account with just the bare minimum of personal details, to get help from eBay,

not to share recipes, jokes, or to socialize.

Did you receive the return label via email?  I ask as I had a return for an item-not-as-described in April and the return label was sent to me via email attached to an eBay message containing the date by which I had to ship the item to the seller.  If you received such a message and if you did not delete the message, then you can open the PDF file to view the tracking number.

Since the return label was sent via eBay, the tracking number was already in the eBay system:  I did not need to enter the tracking information and eBay sent me a notification when the seller received the package. Did you receive a notification that the seller received the package?

Re: Help! Return Gone Wrong!

I am an ebay seller. So I got a return request for an item (it was damaged within the shipping) and I accept it. But I knew that he didn't updated the return label. So as a seller I knew the process what happened if they didnt attach the return details within the duration. So I updated the buyer via ebay chat and told them to update the tracking details. So he was so grateful for and thank me for being truthful. This is how my return situation happend.
