Hello, a seller sent a wrong item from China and I opened a return request. Ebay provided a return address which is in China, however the seller instructed me not to post to that address. They told me they could not give me a return label (they did not do that) and that I should post it to an Australian address. I was about to do so, googled the address in Chullora NSW and found that this is a common ebay scam location and also that the PO Box belongs to a Jeans company.
I was thinking, just post it as requested, worst case is I loose the postage cost, but the item is of no use to me anyway and is a few hundred dollars. On the other had, I am not doing as ebay requested by posting to the other address.
Any thoughts?
cheers

Don't ship anything unless they provide a return label. This is assuming you filed an INAD claim as mentioned. If they PP you the postage cost first, then you have the decision to do it or not. This issue is a huge disadvantage for an overseas seller and they know the risks.

I lodged a claim return which was accepted by the seller, BUT they gave me an address in Australia to send to. Ebay messaged me and said your return has been accepted, send to an address in China.
I asked for a return label and was told - we dont do that - just ship by the cheapest method possible. INAD means a return request? cheers

Ebay says they should provide a return label as the item is not what it was described, however the seller "cant" provide a return shipping (I dont know why) and does not want it back in China.

Big red flag. Do not comply or you will likely lose everything.
Let the request play out. Do not engage with this seller. Ignore googling the address, it's irrelevant.
