Ebay doesn't recognize my ebay-generated return tracking number!

Sent some cell phones back to the seller for SNAD, having gone through ebay's Resolution Center and received a shipping label.  I've been trying to enter the USPS tracking for a week now and it keeps telling me it doesn't recognize it!  Meanwhile, the phones have returned to the seller.  How do I get ebay to recognize their own tracking so I can get my refund?

This is not eBay's own tracking number, it is a USPS tracking number, right?  Is it an international sale/return?  If so, I did have a problem with that once, and so I called the helpline.... Turned out the seller was REUSING tracking numbers/labels.... and that is why it wasn't being accepted....   Good Luck!

This was the ebay-generated USPS tracking on my return, going back to FL.  I ended up going through chat and getting chat to add the tracking number.  I hope that works.  I've seen a number of other people unable to add tracking manually, but it seems weird that ebay couldn't track a label they created.

I know this an old post but for anyone with this same problem, I typed mine in with a zero in front of it and it magically accepted and said delivered back to seller a week ago.  I knew that it was delivered, but I couldn't get the numbers in for a week! So frustrating. Doesn't help that you cant speak to a human at Ebay "due to covid". Seems like everyone is using covid as an excuse to be lazy and save money.

I did the same thing, added a 0 in front, now it shows delivered, but it hasn't updated yet and refunded me, so I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow..

I even tried contacting customer support, they said to call back tomorrow because their systems are having issues..

I find this all incredibly offputting that their refund system is such garbage.

lucky you , i lost my money and never received a refund even tho seller have item since i use ebay return label , case is now closed in favor of the seller due to "no tracking number uploaded "

You're out of options on eBay, @hatzuki55. Instead, file a "Credit not processed" chargeback with your card issuer, give them that tracking number showing Delivered, and get your refund.

Why Would a Customer File a Chargeback With Reason Code “Credit Not Processed?”
“Credit Not Processed” chargebacks are filed by customers who have returned their purchase but did not receive a refund from the merchant.

Otherwise,

1. file a return request with PayPal here.

2. Go back immediately to click Escalate to PayPal at the bottom of the dispute.

3. When you're instructed to return the item, upload that tracking number that's already delivered back to the seller, to get your automatic refund.

I can confirm that this works! (At least in my case) I couldn’t figure out all day why my tracking number wasn’t being accepted by eBay when I could track it through other sites. My item wouldn’t show as shipped even though I had sent it out and tried to upload the tracking number I was given. I saw this comment about adding a “0” at the beginning of the tracking number and it did in fact magically work!
