Eating a return for not saying what an item isn't

I have been forced to take a return (even though it states I do not accept returns), due to the fact that the item is exactly what the item description said it was. The buyers stated reason for return is that I didn't state it wasn't a similar item. How do we sellers deal with this? Do we now have to state everything an item isn't? The item was a Playstation 3, early models are "Backward compatible", a desirable feature to some. Later models are not. The customer said I didn't tell them it wasn't backward compatible and I should have told them it wasn't. Now I will have to confirm with my buyers that they fully understand what something isn't. Or else I get to eat the shipping.

No returns doesnt mean no refund.

No returns is not great for sellers.

Hopefully you get back the item you sold and dont have to refund the buyer and lose the Playstation 3 also.

Good luck!

I think that information would have been important to put in the description so the buyer would know.

Unfortunately you will still have to refund the item if they file a NAD complaint. You can purchase the return shipping label for them. If they don’t use it, you will get the label cost refunded. You can issue a refund once you get the item back.

I know selling can be frustrating! But good luck good sir.

true. but if important to buyer they also could have asked first rather than be disappointed.

What my point is, that I'm forced to take a return based on what it isn't. The item is exactly as I described, the item functions as it should, and yet I am forced to take the return. I wish to avoid this problem in the future. I sell items with a fairly small profit margin and paying for shipping both ways eats up most of that. I cannot afford to pay for people to "rent" my items on my dime. When I've taken returns in the past for "not as described", the customer claimed it was not in the condition described. Ok, that can be subjective. This is not. There are only two models of the PS3 that are backwards compatible and this one is not. I didn't say it was. It also doesn't play Xbox games, it isn't a shoe, and it won't wash your clothes. I hope you get what I'm trying to say. Thanks.

You may state that you don't take returns, but that doesn't matter if/when a buyer opens an item not as described case.

Yes, one would think. The other fact is a backwards compatible model sells for about 3 times the price.
