I bought an item that arrived in very poor condition. I proceeded to open a request for return, but it didn't finish. I loaded the pictures, but then my screen cleared. It did not say we'll look into it etc. I tried to do it again and it button to submit was not highlighted and won't process. Please advise, it was over $400.

To open a request or a claim you have to wait until the "estimated date of arrival"...or tracking that shows it has arrived. Usually it is a day after "estimated date of arrival". This is a weekend so not much happens on off business days.
Wait until Monday after 9AM and try again.

This was a return request, NAD, no need to wait for any reason, other than it may have been a glitch

It shows it was delivered. It is not listed on the Returns/Cancelled tab, so my return request did not go through. But it won't let me file it as a return. I'll try again Monday, but really , why would it matter to a computer if it is the weekend?

It shouldn't matter at all, if still the same on Monday, try contacting eBay on Facebook, better reps there who are actually trained - good luck.

If your return request DID go through, you wouldn't even have seen the page to try to do it again, instead:
You can't start a return for this item.
You have already opened an eBay Money Back Guarantee case for this item.
Try again @cambriachick select the ARRIVED DAMAGED reason, add one line of comment then break it into two lines, upload at least one photo, and see if the Submit request button now activates.

Well, Thank you all who responded. Sometimes it seems like nothing to reach out and help someone, but it's very meaningful to that person.
I got it squared away. I checked it as down-under suggested, and waited as jamesstamps suggested, and proceeded as an-36344 said. Got it now!!
