I've had a few returns and 2 of them were buyer just didn't like the item or something of that nature. Do you get defects for all returns? Or just the ones for item not described or other reasons.
I have a 3.95% return rate. What is the highest allowed without it affecting my account?

eBay cares about how many Item Not Received and Item Not As Described claims you have, and about cases you don’t resolve. A very high return rate is unlikely to happen without those being an issue in most situations, but just having a high remorse return rate won’t hurt your seller status.

I am not completely sure but I think that you do not get a Defect for a Return as long as you take care of it yourself and eBay did not have to take care of it for you.

Be more concerned about "Transaction defect rate" and "Case closed without seller resolution" than return rate.
