Damaged Return/Missing Address Problem

Hello All,

recently I had a buyer purchase an item from me and I shipped it to him. After about a week he messaged me saying it was being returned to me by USPS and said he has never had a problem with his address. Once I received the package not only was it severely damaged with the contents hanging out but I also looked up to see the address given did not exist. He insists on me shipping it back to the address but I know this will happen again, plus the item is damaged, plus the address does not exist. I canceled the order off of the shipping issue category and refunded the buyer but I am worried about receiving negative feedback. Since I still do not have much feedback on my account this could seriously hurt me. Do I just have to bite the bullet and hopefully appeal it if I do receive bad feedback? Thanks.

Probably, come back here if you would like advice if something happens. Depends upon what exactly a buyer states in the feedback. Lot of loopholes for the seller.

Damaged Return/Missing Address Problem

You've already refunded the buyer in full and took a loss on shipping @storeforallwars23 - what bullet is left to bite?

Buyers lose MBG coverage for undeliverable packages due to the buyer providing a bad address. You could have refunded less shipping/fees if you wanted.

If you have other problems or if the buyer leaves a neg come back for more advice before taking action.

I never live in fear of the neg. You can't please everyone. A neg will come sooner or later. Many can be removed and those that can't can be negated with a professional reply.

Buyer provided invalid shipping address, package returned, buyer refunded in full.

If the package was so damaged the contents were hanging out you might look into filing an insurance claim. Hang on to the package in its entirety as USPS will ask you to turn it over for inspection if you file a claim.
