I have a buyer who is requesting a return for a weight scale they purchased with the reason being it is defective and in the notes states that it only measures kilograms, not pounds. This information was clearly stated in the title, photos, and VERY pointedly in the description. My store does not accept returns so I feel like this buyer is abusing the MBG by stating it is "defective" when in fact it is not and they just didn't read.
I called customer service and they suggested I accept the return and "challenge" the return when it arrives back to me. He basically just said to call them back when it arrives. I've only dealt with a few return-to-sender returns so I'm wondering if someone can provide some insight as to what will really happen when I receive it back and call customer service. I can't imagine they'll allow me to keep the money and have the item back. But the agent seemed to agree with me that this item is in fact not defective based on her comment.
I've seen other posts that say just to accept the return, resell it, block the buyer, and report them for abusing the MBG but I hate that I did everything right and was very transparent in my listing and I still get screwed. The customer service agent even agreed that I had it in the description and notes in the buyer's return request clearly show she didn't read it.

It doesn't matter what your listings say. If your buyer opens a case of item not received, you are responsible. No returns does not mean no refunds. If you don't accept the return, your buyer will get to keep the item and be refunded the money, for which you will gain a defect on your account. You can accept the return, pay for a label to have the buyer send it back, and then refund once you receive the item back. There is no challenging an item not as described return. The seller will never win.
Once the item is returned, resell it (with kg in the title), block the buyer, and report them. I had a similar return. The buyer claimed that the pictures in the book were only b/w and not color. This was stated in the listing and photographed. Doesn't matter. I had to pay for the return.

Yes, they will refund the buyer from your account and give you a defect for not handling the return/refund and keep their fee's.

Hi @taytri_50
Would you mind providing the Item Number of the listing so that we can read it? [You sell too much to find it easily. 😉]
US buyers simply do not anticipate that a US seller might be listing a scale that shows weight ONLY in kilograms … similar to a DVD that plays only in Europe.
I’m really sorry this happened … but I agree with the others that you would only be hurting yourself if you attempted to fight the return.
